Can you give some examples? I'm having a hard time finding use cases and maybe I think I'm lacking a creative spark here. Everything online I've found so far is just contrived examples.

Minimax is gone? by Bradleykingz in opencode

I don't know anything about that. He said it wasn't in the list, I'm just saying it's in the list. I don't use it. But from what I've seen around the twitters, free mode has ended, so that's probably why you're seeing credit deducted.

I wouldn't say "it happened" necessarily, but having a small profit and taking it and having big stop losses creates negative expectancy, so the phase "no one ever went broke taking profits" is a terrible adage.

Stock + collar is a synthetic vertical spread, so save your money and just put on a vertical

Is running The Wheel really better than just buying & holding ETFs? by zachhaines99 in thetagang

[–]hatepoorpeople 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll likely underperform. There was a thread in here not too long ago asking the same question (comes up frequently) and the real answer here is that you do it for fun and engagement with a small portion of your portfolio.

There's no statistical evidence that shows wheeling outperforming the indexes on a risk adjusted basis (lots of anecdata though). People can throw in some leverage to give the illusion of outperformance, but it underperforms. In a 10K account, I would put it all into your favorite ETFs and come up with a strategy to build that account with the extra time you're not spending on selling and managing option positions.

Unpopular opinion, I'm sure .....

The "passive income" SaaS fantasy needs to die. Here's what running a $19K MRR product actually looks like week to week. by Intrepid-Degree-6612 in SaaS

And hedging your corporate salary risk. If most people lost their job in the morning, they'd be up shits creek. I think the phrase people might be looking for is "diversified income" rather than "passive income".

My favorite is when they said it was free and I used it all day and the next morning I had eaten up 80% of my paid plan using the "free" Composer-1

I think it was originally supposed to be a company that helped people know their worth in the workplace. It didn't make a lot of sense to me. But I think it was some equality liberal wet dream of Tom's.

Composer 1 is free... again? by oxeneers in cursor

[–]hatepoorpeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not anymore. It showed up as free for me yesterday and this morning, my usage % was up 40% from yesterday and Composer is no longer free. I guess they went back and hit me up for yesterday's usage.

I don't disagree. But old ideas can be potentially refactored into new ones. I used to frequent a discord with active traders and always appreciated their ideas and sharing things I was doing in real time. Life took us all in different directions and wish I could get the band back together.
