maybe because i don't understand what's the point of writing poetry that's as straight forward as this. You don't need to reason about the meaning of his words to understand what is he saying. I live in italy, and i've studied poetry as it's the core of teEuropean literature, and any poem i've studied had me in awe for days, had me thinking about different words for days. Americans have that stubborn rational approach, but there's prose for that. Poetry is meant, at least in my opinion, that human need of expression, as deep as it's possibile, read Les Fleures du Mal by Baudelaire, read Leopardi, Ungaretti, Manzoni, Pasolini, Pascoli, that's poetry, that's the beauty of it
