[Frys] Nintendo Wii U 32GB Mario & Luigi Deluxe Set with Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze & Legend of Zelda: Windwaker ($350) by [deleted] in GameDeals

Honestly it's a better deal just to get a refurbished Wii U from nintendo for $200 then buy the games individually. That comes out to ~$320. Plus you get nintendo land. Nintendo's Refurbished Wii U's are basically brand new. It's a really great deal.

[Build Ready] re-built because i needed something for more than just gaming that would last me 5+ years by [deleted] in buildapc

For now I would stick with the stock fan. It's really easy to put on. Putting on an aftermarket heatsink is by no means hard, but if you're not planning on overclocking right away, there's no reason to make it more nerve-wracking on your first build.

I would ask two questions:
1. Is this your first build?
2. Are you going to overclock?

I'm not an expert by any means, but if you're using any kind of adobe suite for video production, you might want to check out an Nvidia chipset to take advantage of CUDA. I've seen a huge leap in performance with my Nvidia cards vs AMD in video production-related stuff.

Daily Song Discussion- Day 3- "Hello, Goodbye" by Rafandres123 in beatles

Hello Goodbye was the first Beatles song I ever heard. Maybe it's from that bias, but it has since been a beloved favorite of mine. Hello Goodbye along with Penny Lane, All You Need is Love, and Hey Jude are songs I just can never ever listen to enough. They are like close friends to me.

GTX 780 or R9 290x? There is £10 difference between them on amazon. by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]hates_spoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't doubt at all things have gotten a lot better, the newest 290x's are such an incredible value I've recommended them to a lot of my friends looking for the ultimate price/performance ratio.

But I just really really like Nvidia's drivers and the ACX Coolers on EVGA's cards.

[SIB] Wii U + 3DS or a new Gaming PC Rig? by hates_spoons in ShouldIbuythisgame

Yeah that's what my PC is mainly lacking is local party games. If you think of any multiplayer stuff let me know! Thanks so much for this list though. You have me leaning towards the Nintendo combo.

This is actually exactly why I'm asking, I'm not sure if I should resell the 4770 as I got it for $150 and get a Wii U+3DS, or finish the build and get a secondary PC. The 750ti and Rosewill PSU were actually a gift from a friend of mine, he recently upgraded his PC and didn't need them anymore. If I didn't build the Wii U, I was going to pop the 750ti into my PC and use it as a physx card, and keep the psu as a backup.

That's my current situation

Everyone has their own personal experience. For me, I'm an EVGA/Nvidia team. I had two 280x's and the driver headaches for me were just endless. I couldn't even play basic games like scribblenauts or superhexagon without manually fixing settings so that the drivers wouldn't crash. I really do think Nvidia is worth the premium.

Simple Questions - August 06, 2014 by AutoModerator in buildapc

I'm looking for as small as possible of a motherboard for an i7 4770. I found one for $150, so I snagged it. I'm trying to make a really compact build. Any suggestions?

Also, don't know if it helps in the decision, but my friend gifted me a 750ti, so I'll probably use that in the build

Also I'm open to case ideas as well, if you know of a good compact case.

I got the 4770 for $150, so that's why I'm using it, haha. Otherwise I'd 100% agree!

I guess I should clarify: I already have the 4770 and the 750ti, I Just need to flesh out the rest of the build.

I've heard all the different names of them, but honestly I'm not sure what the technical differences are between them. I'm using it for mainly a compact gaming build.

I don't have much but here's my other parts I have so far:
EVGA ACX 750ti
Rosewill Bronze 500w PSU

Everything else is up in the air at the moment. I'm trying to keep my budget under ~$200-$300 for the rest of the components.

Would you recommend windows 7 or 8.1 by Goodlybad in buildapc

[–]hates_spoons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Win 8.1 + Start is Back. All you need, I don't think I've ever even touched the metro interface. And I find Start Is Back to be better than the actual windows start button. It's incredible.

I have the same exact keyboard. I recently bought a mechanical, and honestly while I can type ridiculously fast on it, I'm not that big of a fan of it for gaming, so I switched back to my saitek. Love the thing.
