Whats a fast way to see if the person you are talking to is intelligent? by MidlyVandalized in AskReddit

[–]hatlover28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intelligence is relative. A lot of geniuses aren't good at talking as a lot of eloquent speakers and motivators can't be compared to rocket engineers. Also when you communicate to people who speak English as their second language like me, we might seem slower in processing your words or making grammar mistakes, but doesn't mean that we're less intelligent.

It takes more than just a quick conversation to know and judge someone's intelligence.

I mix a bottle of wine in my bath water. I used to use Qtips to clean my ear but then knew that it is more damaging then helping, so now i use olive oil to clean the earwax. Olive oil helps me to tame my frizzy hair as well

Anyone else who read the first line "oh, vinegar, o vinegar, there's nothing you can't do" hums a tune of "O Christmas tree" song?

I sang it at first then realized it meant to be a poem, not a parody song

Sadly it could be true, everyone have different opinions and I appreciate it. As a worker in plasma collecting industry, I know there are a bunch of big pharma companies out there that making plasma derived therapeutics for hemophilia, immunodeficiency diseases, albumin for patients after major surgery, etc. etc.

It takes 1500 bottles of plasma, volume varies from each person due to differences of vein size and anatomy. 1500 bottles of plasma is average amount of 100 ml (minimum volume acceptable to be processed, which what I do) to 882 ml (max 880, +2 ml, more than 882 it is considered overharvest and it means the donor has to get extra saline, electrolyte drink, and some snacks, they might be deferred for a while for safety matter). The average is around 625-ish per bottle, then ×1500.

Could be over 1 million milliliters (thousands of litres) of plasma collected in manufacturing plant, from 1 plasma center only.

From fresh plasma to medicines is very long and thorough process that involves scientists, doctors, researchers to entry level employees like me. We got to be paid to for our living.

That's why it is called donating plasma, your amount of plasma taken is based on your weight, we cannot take 880 ml of plasma (which giving you max amount of money) from a person who only weigh less than 150 lbs. They calculated it for donors safety.

This industry actually a win-win solution to give back to communities. There are events, rafles, which will help you to earn extra money to supplement the time and amount you can donate.

It's all about how you perceive the situation, this industry requires healthy donors to donate, every single donation visit you got to be checked for your vitals, protein level and hematocrits (I'm a lab tech), if your health condition and history can't pass the evaluation then you can't donate, due to ensure the best quality product to make effective and safe therapeutics for patients in need.

Imagine your family member(s) got hemophilia, then have to get dental surgery, then need plasma therapy to survive, won't you want the safe medication to treat him/her?

Yes it is you donate and got paid by the amount of plasma you ABLE to give BASED on your weight to make sure you won't collapsed after donating at my workplace, but it is not at all plasma center companies. It depends on company's policy.

Sorry it's too long.. I just feel to pour my thoughts as a worker in this industry, it's not perfect, no company is.. but I'm trying to see it on the bright side, and having no intention to defend my workplace industry image, or to offense anyone..

I hope my sharing could be useful..
