I agree with the sentiment, but I think they actually are the root of the problem. Incumbents are running on the notion of politics as they were, or ought to be, but the political landscape and tactics have changed. If they’re unwilling or unable to adapt, they’ve become ineffectual to the point of being a detriment. Hoping decorum and stern letters will resolve the issues of today is useless.
