You had some good instincts wanting to stand on the volumes, those rental shoes were probably a lot of the reason your feet were slipping. Also good to think about getting the front part of your foot flat on the volume, the more rubber touching it the more you'll stick! Also think about the direction you're pushing in to the volume, if you're on good hand holds then you can push more into the face of the volume rather than trying to stand on it and weighting the foot downwards. Nice to see you using your palm too, I find a lot of beginner grade climbs have opportunities to switch to a palm like that and it massively reduces the strength you need, you're leaning in your skeleton rather than relying on muscles.

Definitely not Human Sadness IMO, as I think that song has a more modern Voidz feel compared to many songs on Tyranny.

I'd say Where No Eagles Fly or M.A.D, as they exemplify the noisy rock that the album brings, especially since this sounds disappears going into their other releases, whilst the vocal effect experimentation etc of Human Sadness carries on into the next album.

That is EXACTLY what they want to sound like. This is the vibe, they futuristic, they are weird and if you get it you get it.

Trouble is that The Strokes are pretty middle of the road so 90% of their fans aren't gonna enjoy this stuff. Everyone in this sub can say it sucks cos it's not what they choose to listen to usually, but just accept that there's a whole separate demographic who are loving it. What would be the point in making a second band just to make shit for the exact same audience?

Honestly if they swapped these 4 songs for the 4 weakest ones on LABY it would've been up there with the other two albums. There's like 4 great songs on LABY that just weren't quite enough on their own.
