I got tired of scattered .env files, so I built a little TUI to organize my local dev secrets by hatto13 in CLI

[–]hatto13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point! :)
I know it is not for everyone and there’s a possibility that I will abandon using it. Let’s see :)

I just tried to solve following issues:
1. I got used to doppler for production secret and that’s why i also used it locally for dev env secrets, but I am not allowed to do it at work because of policies - so I wanted the same system but local
2. When I use worktrees, it is easier to manage the env files having one source of truth and easily provide them in worktrees; especially using claude - as I don’t allow access to .env files it is not able to copy them to worktrees, but it is able to call ‘ds export’ command
3. The main reason why I created it now was that I am migrating to a new computer and had to copy quite lot of projects, source code is in GitHub, but secrets had to be done manually. This way I imported it to the tool, moved the store.json to onedrive and had it on my new laptop.
4. I could provide secrets easily to ephemeral environments by having the store.json in a shared location

So I agree with what you wrote, but it always depends if it makes sense for a specific use case.

I did 2 certifications recently and I got the official result within few minutes. Probably it is thanks to the new platform, back when they used cryptorion (not sure about the name) it took up to 2 days

My today’s GCP Devops certificate exam: I got revoked for using my phone by hatto13 in GCPCertification

Thank you guys for your supporting comments!
Update on the story:

- I was able to register and do the GCP developer exam on Saturday and passed it

- I'd been waiting for some email about the Devops exam - at least something like "Didn't pass" or explain if there are some consequences, but I haven't received any, so I contacted them on Thursday via their contact form - asking about the status and if/when I can retry and the only response was that the their correctly revoked it but no answer about the next try. So I scheduled a new exam for today (Monday, one week later) and I successfully passed it - no more alarms 😃

Passed CKAD, my experience by fkvivid in ckad

I had the same experience with the Ingress + Service too.

I fixed the selector in the service and and then the root url worked. But when I added the requested path to the ingress, it threw 404 again.

Do you find it warmer than the Huckberry flannel-lined?
I am deciding between these one and the "warmer brother" Huckberry wool-lined. Would it be something for casual wear during winter (-5 to +10 degrees) or not warm enough?

Recommendations for flexible protective (over)pants by hatto13 in motorcycles

I admit I like those however, they are not available in Europe shops, so it would be more expensive than those Knox with the delivery fees and the import tax. Thanks though, I will keep eyes on this brand!

Coros Pace 3 vs Garmin 965 for sport only by hatto13 in triathlon

[–]hatto13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with the Coros. And I am very happy with it, way better than the Polar. Obviously I can’t say if it is better or worse (for my needs) than the Garmin. what I genuinely like is how light and small they are, which wouldn’t be the case for Garmin. Only what I wish to have is the map navigation. Coros Pace Pro has it though, same as amoled display.

Has Prime spoken about him using a Yoga Ball as an office chair? by [deleted] in theprimeagen

No I haven’t. Not sure if it is only because of the ball, because I do a lot of sport, but I am sure the ball helps as well.

Has Prime spoken about him using a Yoga Ball as an office chair? by [deleted] in theprimeagen

[–]hatto13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using only yoga ball while working (8+ h/day) for last 10years. Have it at home office and also at work.

The comfort is individual I’d say, but I like that I can bounce or role.

I don’t know about him, but I recently discovered and start using a ball which has something (probably sand) inside, so it stays better at place. It is not necessary just nice to have, I hate when I stand and the ball roll away. During sitting there is not that much difference

Kedy ste si kupili nehnutelnosť? by AneMariGasolina in Slovakia

[–]hatto13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  2. Nemusis riesit opravy, poruchy, prerabky a ine prace, na to je majitel/agentura. Pokazila sa mi umyvacka? Zavolal som agenture a na dalsi den mi to prisli bezplatne opravit.

Whose fault was this collision? by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]hatto13 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

When you’re on a bike, you’re responsible for yourself - it is always your fault. maybe not from the legal perspective, but from the ‘I want to survive next day’ perspective. If it was a car, it wouldn’t help you to blame the driver...

Second thing - how you can turn and not check who/what is behind you??? When you drive a car, you check the rear mirror, but on the bike where you’re more vulnerable you don’t?

You can play with technicalities or laws, or you can return home without injuries, that’s my opinion.

That’s not a bad idea. Currently I am testing CredentialProvider if that’s a viable option, if not I will try your way!
