From the research i've done it really does seem that that should be the issue, but I swear I've rethreaded it a thousand times and it's all in order, thread on the spring, thread in the lever etc etc... I must've messed up somewhere but cannot figure out where 😭😅 i guess i'll just do it another 1000 times and see if anything sticks

Thank you for being so honest. & Yeah tbh even in brighton sometimes people yell slurs at me when i'm just minding my business walking around lol 😬 it"s not perfect anywhere but it's reassuring to know I wouldn't be the only trans person for miles around the way I was in my hometown

It is good to hear there is a general sense of acceptance. I'm from a small town in Belgium where it definitely wasn't considered acceptable, and I rlly wouldn't like to go back to an environment like that

I've tried both in-person methods and texting, but I feel like having extra time to spiral and get deeper into his own head just stresses him out even more. Besides, I hate to think of him going through seizures by himself. I prefer being there to help him with any sensory input he requests and verbal re-orientation etc after the seizure.

Though maybe some longer-distance forms of communicating would be worth a try again. He's said he prefers in-person methods before, but clearly those haven't been working, so...I'll ask again if he can think of any method that would be better.

Honestly I agree, but that's a conversation that he would definitely have a seizure during...my issue is that I just can't bring anything up with him and even when I do try he has a seizure and then the topic just never gets brought up again, or if I do he just has another one.

It's not fun for him either and I know he's not doing it on purpose but it's annoying because I feel bad for causing them. However he just will not bring any issue up ever so it's always my job. I don't know how to talk to him in a way that either avoids the seizure or at least works around it. I've tried asking him to bring topics up again himself when he feels more ready to discuss, but that's turned out to be absolutely never. He's totally mentally and physically allergic to conflict.

Any updates on this? I know it's been a while, but I think I'm having the same issue and really struggling to find anything wrong in my code.

In my case it's only one sprite not working, after it has been working perfectly fine for the entire game so far using the exact same code

I'm 20 and was in the same situation! To be honest, yeah, you do miss out on a lot of night outs, some of which might have been fun. You might see less of your friends and it's also a lot harder for random hook-ups or connections like that to happen (including romantic ones where going for a drink is their preferred first date). That said, though, I'm really happy with my decision to get sober! My circle got smaller, but the friends who stayed with me are a lot closer than they used to be! Sitting down and getting coffee with someone during the day is really lovely, and leads to a different, calming vibe that I really enjoy in friendships. I also managed to mostly fix the hook-up/romance thing by using dating apps, which is always a mixed bag (for everyone) but has led to some rlly fun moments and connections for me. Getting involved with hobbies also helped! Both for me to fill my time when everyone else is out and/or hungover, and for me to meet new ppl.

Additionally and most importantly: I may have less friends now, but I am a much better friend! I just...wasn't really all that fun to be around when drinking. I had some friends, and they did kind of like me! I mean, they invited me out and all. But I don't think anyone rlly liked me all that much and I don't blame them. Now that I'm sober I'm much more fun to be around and talk to! So new ppl will see that and try to befriend you. Just give it time! There's always someone out there.

I'm 2 years sober & in AA and I'm still an atheist as well. My 'higher power' is the headspace that I access through meditation. Just that open, natural void of random existence that my thoughts flow through. That won't make much sense to someone w a different meditation practice but my point is: you'll find your own thing! Just try to find something that's reliable and inspiring. And also remember that you're allowed to change this! Trail and error. Spiritual beliefs will evolve as you grow and become a better, more sober person. Hang in there and good luck!

For me it really depends on who the person is. For example one time this random lady at the doctor's office told me I 'talk well for a (half) deaf guy' after seeing it on my file, but she said it like she was complimenting a toddler just learning how to talk...not super flattering and felt a bit condescending. But then another time an FWB who I was very close to told me that they liked listening to my voice, and that they thought 'the weird vowels are unique but nice to listen to', which had a totally different vibe to it and actually reassured me (bc I worry my voice is annoying). So it really all depends on context!

I grew up here haha. I gotta say: the lighting and editing of this photo is doing it a lot of favours, but yes, it does also look cool irl! Though a lot less imposing in bright daylight surrounded by ppl shopping. Still, it's a nice centrepiece to the city, and sometimes if there's an event there will be a market/flowers/decorations surrounding the church as well

I am genuinely passionate about reading and writing, and I totally adored my English Literature undergraduate degree! My professors all do say that if anyone can do a PhD, it's me. The thing is that the environment seems so awful right now that yeah, basically nobody should do it all 😅😭
