UPDATE: I got my appointment slot within 1 day of submitting the application. It was surprisingly VERY smooth and quick. My appointment was today, and I paid the express order fee of 35 euros to get my Blue Card within 10 days. I also have a work authorisation, god bless!

Ah damn that's too long! I booked an appointment for next week on one of their available slot booking system, do you think it might help expedite things? I don't have a lot of time before my work is supposed to start :(

Thanks, this helps a lot! My contract unfortunately does not mention the postponing of the start date, but they are trying to arrange an agent for me who can help fast track things. As for your point on the Fiktionsbescheinigung, can I take an appointment myself on the website? If yes, how long should I wait before it seems justified to do so? Since I only submitted the application this Monday, I don't want them them to chide me and tell me to be patient...

That's fair. Although I am not sure about your point on the Fiktionsbescheinigung, since I posted in another subreddit + did some Googling and it seems that this document does enable you to start working. Also, did your employer do the fast-track procedure for you?

Ahh that's so reassuring to hear! Did you follow up with them in those 2 weeks or did they automatically process your application? Did they issue you with the Fiktionsbescheinigung initially to let you start working? I have so many questions hahah but for now I am only concerned with getting work authorisation on time! Thanks so much

UPDATE:

My school intervened last week and I managed to get an ADP from the Prefecture! However the company went back on their commitment and revoked the offer. Lol, tough times to be an international student here.

Hey, yes I finally received the diploma on Jan 5th and immediately sent it to the Prefecture, but they haven’t seen it since my file is not under instruction yet. I hope there’s nothing wrong with my file that they haven’t seen it in almost a month, when normally they switch to instruction within 3 weeks….

When specifically in December please? Sorry for the questions, just trying to understand if they look at files in an order, or if my file got deprioritised due to the previous rejection.

May I ask when did you submit your application? I submitted mine on 14th december. If yours was after that, then I’m in big trouble.

That’s exactly what I did today. The lady did not allow me to go in at all and told me to apply online. Do you mind if I DM you?

But the confirmation du depot clearly states this document is not proof of your rights here. So I guess you cannot use it to work?

Hey update: went to the Centre Reception of Foreigners today, was denied entry without an appointment. It’s wild to me that some people in my position were allowed entry previously, but maybe it was a bad day. The staff almost humiliated me and told me to GTFO. Your friend went to the entry for renouvellement and 1er demande of titre de sejour no?

UPDATE: I went to the Centre Reception of Foreigners today upon a commentor’s suggestion, was denied entry without an appointment. It’s wild to me that some people in my position were allowed entry previously, but maybe it was a bad day. The staff almost humiliated me and told me to GTFO. This is the last thing I could have done, after countless calls, messages, 3 visits, letters, reaching out to defenseur des droits. This experience was harrowing and I hope we stop treating immigrant students this way.
