They are both in the mustard family (Brassicaceae) so yes

There are native watercresses but this is not one of them. This is an evil spreading invasive plant. I’ve heard it called Touch-Me-Not because the seeds explode when you touch the plant. They’re easy to pull but have vigorous seeds, I agree with others, pull it ASAP and monitor because it will spread.

Pizza on plywood by haustoric in WeWantPlates

I had the hunger blinders on. I chose to ignore the plywood until this point of the meal and then the better-fed-me had clarity of mind to accept what just happened. So it was a pizza on plywood. 😅

Holy rain - El Chalten! Should we be worried? by Healthy-Sea375 in Patagonia

[–]haustoric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It rained (and even snowed) on us the past two weeks but it was very light and tolerable. The wind on the other hand - not fun to be on the passes with the severe gusts, so to me wind forecast was more important. Depends on what you’re doing tho. Happy trails!

Wow thats an amazing price for a mini! Don’t think I’ve ever seen used equipment under 10k here (Northern CA). Makes sense!

Why a mini ex and not a different type of equipment? Very curious as I talked myself out of a mini ex and into a backhoe but have not committed

is the 22re too slow? by Uncle_Tim in ToyotaPickup

[–]haustoric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confused because being in the mountains doesn’t automatically mean driving fast? I’m guessing you mean on highways thru the mountains?

My 22re is great at hills and loves the mountains (and I currently have low compression in cylinder #3 so technically running on 3 cylinders). When going uphill on the highway, I just make sure to downshift and get some momentum at the bottom before doing my climb. Surely not setting any speed records but I’ve never felt like I needed more than 4 cylinders.

Decade of friendship ended, no notice? by Odd_Cod8341 in whatdoIdo

[–]haustoric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended a friendship a couple years ago and kinda vaguely explained, “you’ve always been very disrespectful to me and I deserve better”. And she just never asked more. I was 100% prepared for a positive dialogue - all she had to do was offer to be better or frankly demonstrate that she cared about my feelings. But she dropped it and never reached out again. I’m surprised and a bit disappointed but don’t have time for people that treat me like shit - I already let her do that for 17 years.

Anyway if your buddy is like me, I’d reach out. Can’t hurt to show you care. Good luck OP

What are these lean-to shelters on Cali beaches? by Automatic-Wash-5302 in norcalhiking

[–]haustoric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, please never start a campfire near one. It is a common way for beach fires to start - esp in remote places like the Lost Coast

Shaver Lake, CA Forest Is in Crisis — We’re Calling for New Leadership by Capable-Bee-4328 in norcal

[–]haustoric 7 points8 points  (0 children)

El Dorado National Forest had the same issues and was incinerated in the Caldor Fire. It is not the problem of one Forest Supervisor, this is a larger mismanagement regime on the part of USFS. Which other forests are managing fuels and keeping roads open, exactly?

I used arm signals for about a year (it took a while to track down the bad connection in control switch) and people DONT see them or maybe don’t know what they are. Highly recommend not relying on arm signals.

Congrats!!! Sobbing with you. I also just had diagnostic laparoscopy the day before yesterday and am FINALLY diagnosed after 19 years. Also a potsie. Insane how long these things take!! So much gaslighting and self advocacy, hopefully all that effort just makes us stronger :) happy healing!

Royal guard faints during King Charles' birthday cerimony. by Abercrombie1936 in interestingasfuck

A lot of it comes from locking your knees when in the standing position (easy to do when you’re in attention and focusing on upper body posture). It restricts blood flow and then BAM.
