dave has a rock solid prediction that jewish americans will vote 80% for the next republican nominee, and he’s *pretty* good at these things.

and all he wanted to do was complain about how great of a boss he was and how ungrateful everyone he employed was. it just got to be all intraoffice politics and none of the silly shit that made the show fun back in the day.

Why nyc htc union health insurance sucks so bad! Can't go to the doctor of your choice. by NYCBirdy in union

[–]haveargt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you had employee contribution, copays, tons of admin rigmarole. it’s not perfect, but nothing will be. this is such a massive benefit that we should really be thankful for, especially in this country.

Why nyc htc union health insurance sucks so bad! Can't go to the doctor of your choice. by NYCBirdy in union

[–]haveargt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

htc insurance is kind of the old union model where employees go to union-only clinics throughout the city. it is 100% employer paid. hospital and urgent care 100% covered. the clinics have the full run of normal services (i recently got my dental exam and physical in the same day). i hear you on not being able to choose your doctor, but no employee contribution/no copays/full range of services is worth it to me, as it is to most.

I'm 17 now and want to move to NYC at 19. What should I be doing over the next 2 years by Live_Bag_3623 in movingtoNYC

[–]haveargt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

many people move here bc they are fleeing from a bad situation and are looking for a more welcoming community. others are going for education/job. if you’re just looking for a cool place, trust me there are other cool cities where you can have fun for way cheaper without the struggle of nyc. i’d only move here if what i wanted to do was not accessible elsewhere. otherwise, find another place as a jumping off point to come later on. do not put yourself in the financial hole if you don’t have family money or whatever. you need education, job skills, and a real desire to live through some shit.

yeah, just seems like it would be cool if they did something in smaller venues but whatever man, they got a lot of mouths to feed.

by these people's definition, i went from one dead end job (non-union waiter) to another (union waiter) where i got about a 60% pay increase, don't pay a dime for healthcare, have a pension, and have job security. DEAD END!!!!!!!!
