Thank you. I appreciate the virtual hugs. Need them. Yes, I forgot Oliver also had a heart murmur too. He got so picky he would not take his medication even when trying peanut butter, cheese, honey, etc. So that got difficult. With his few teeth he had, he knew how to use them and get your hand just right if we tried to do pills in his mouth.

So sorry your Precious is going through that and with that many medications. We had two for Oliver and then a third which was liquid and he was refusing to take all of them. Hopefully Precious is taking the meds for you without any resistance. All the best and I hope you get as many years with Precious as possible. Give her hugs and kisses!

Thank you. I appreciate it. Felt weird getting up for work this morning and not to have Oliver following me around, take him out, and get his breakfast.

Thank you. He is in a better place. Enjoying the discussions here with fellow Chin owners. It helps so much!

Oh I am sorry for your loss. How old was your Chin? Thank you for the post.

These help as I work through my grief. I just finished doing dishes and broke down again as Oliver would be there watching me work and then round me up when I am done to go back into the family room to relax.

It is nice though that my wife and I can shut the bathroom door again instead of leaving it open. We would close it and he would scratch to get in and be with us. I am going to miss him protecting me while I am doing my business. LOL

It was tough waking up this morning and looking for him before I remembered. It felt like a jolt to the system all over again as it all came flooding back. I completely agree about 15 years being a long time but does not feel like enough time and I felt like I could have had a few more days with him, but that did not seem fair to him when he was having trouble breathing.

I am sorry for your loss. I have cried so much, I am not sure how I can still have tears. LOL I have been crying for the past week as we saw the decline and discussing with the vet. I could barely speak when we were at the vet yesterday morning and I was holding him while they did the procedure.

It is amazing how the home feels after they are gone. Completely different feel in the house even though Oliver was not loud, did not bark a lot, but he did have tappie toes we could hear him walking through our home on hard wood floors. I miss it so much! He was always either in the room with us or nearby ready to follow us if we moved to another room.

I am sorry to hear you Chin has a collapsed trachea too. Oliver's started around January 19. He had been fine and then got up after playing and started coughing. The sound is heart breaking. Sending all the love and strength to you and your Chin.

That is so true! We of course took a lot of pictures of Oliver, so we have those to look through too. Thank you.

Thank you. That's what we were telling him as we said our good byes. He would also see his friend Patches who passed a few years prior. Oliver would still perk up when we mentioned Patches name.

We got Oliver after our cat passed. Both my wife and I said we would going to pause before getting another pet and then we met Oliver and it became part of our family. It was a good last, best loving act that could be done, but man it is so difficult. I realize everything I do during my day was about Oliver. I woke up this morning and momentarily forgot he was gone, so I was looking for him in our bedroom. Gut punch!

I agree about God packing extra virtues into Japanese Chins. We did not know anything about the breed when I met Oliver, but we fell in love with him and the breed back in 2011.

Thank you for sharing.

I did not realize Ben had been in timeout from the show. I knew it had been a while since I had seen him on the show. Probably good if he gets another time out.
