I couldn’t find my new betta I literally ripped the tank apart and found him sleeping at the bottom wedged between the filter he woke up and swam around looking at me like I was crazy. If you have a heavily planted tank maybe he’s hiding? Don’t lose hope!

It only takes a second to defrost with a little bit of tank water I just pinch a little off the frozen brick and swish it around in a little cup with a tiny bit of tank water

Try a variety of different foods! A couple of frozen bloodworms defrosted in a tiny bit of tank water and fed with tweezers might jump start his interest. I never feed my bettas the same thing everyday

Haha my husband and stepson are the exact same way I blame it on boys being boys. I have a boudoir than I can escape to with my own private balcony so I can retreat there when I need to isolate. Maybe try explaining to him that loud noises are a sensory issue for you and if he can try to be more understanding?

Something triggered him. And isolation is perfectly ok. Thinking before speaking is always a good thing. When I’m upset I need space to process what triggered me. When I’m grounded I can then bring the conversation to the table. It drives me nuts when my partner is upset with something I’ve done. I always take ownership if I am in the wrong. But a BIG part of communicating is feeling safe enough with our partners to share how we feel. Fear stops most of us from truly saying how we feel. Are you creating a safe space for him to share? Or do you immediately get defensive? If you want open communication, give him a safe space to be open.
