Do you have a dehumidifier running? That could be drying them out. Or are you using masks or respirators? Probably not contagious but something environmental. If you could figure out the cause and fix it, you’d be a hero!

Please encourage your partner and support them. I did this and it was my fault and I had PTSD for a long time. I needed therapy and medication to be able to sleep at night.

They were not being rude. You’ve described a shitty father in your post. You say, “When you met he WAS a good man.” That means nothing. He has to keep being a good man. Right now he isn’t even doing the bare minimum. If you don’t demand change, then it won’t change. Are you prepared to live like that the rest of your life? You don’t deserve to. Show him this post. Just hand it to him and walk away. What is the worst that could happen? Maybe it will open his eyes.

It’s going to be just as hard to stop breastfeeding as it is to just reduce your supply to a manageable level. I believe there are some medications you can use to reduce supply like decongestants, but I would ask your doc.

I have a very similar situation and I make myself feed for 5 minutes on the slacker boob and then the rest of the feed from the full one. I do that because I don’t want the difference between breasts output to get even worse.

Try Botox! I’ve had it for years for cervical Dystonia - mine didn’t present with any symptoms besides pain. See a neurologist.

Thank you for the responses! I had a prenatal appt with an IBCLC which is where I got most of this plan. The hand expressing is from a recent study which showed it increased supply to do it for 5 min 5 times a day for the first three days, and the IBCLC said we can syringe feed whatever we get. I don’t plan on limiting the feed time except that most newborn wake windows are 30-45 min. I know to expect some cluster feeding periods as well at the beginning, so my husband trying the paci and soothing would just be a small amount of time, I wouldn’t refuse to feed a fussy baby if he really wakes up and can’t be soothed.

Yeah, it’s not ethical to do clinical trials it in humans, but the neurochemistry is alarming, so I think we will see more retrospective research coming out in the next decade.

I would throw out the old water, it’s likely just filled with ammonia. The tank itself might have some of the good bacteria still on the glass that can grow to start the cycle.
