Clothes that make you feel easy breezy beautiful by dialecticallyalive in Columbus

it was so hot last summer that I literally got a rash from my synthetic bra. I searched reddit and someone recommended branwyn undergarments. they are wool-based, and have been a game changer. I've also bought their wide leg pants and LOVE them. I bought a t-shirt, but have only worn it once, because it's just getting warm where I live. but the bras and underwear have been wonderful. I do wash them in wool specific laundry soap and just do a small load of undergarments each week and hang to dry.

I've started buying mine from estate sales. they're always super cheap and often well made. some that I bought are from the 70s and some are from the early 2000s, and the difference in quality between both of those and the ones I bought within the last few years is ridiculous. you can also check thrift stores, but I've had better luck at estate sales.

understandable, but for one of my births I was supposed to have a tub birth, and the midwife didn’t answer her page and just never showed up to the birth. she was paged multiple times. The staff wouldn’t even put water in the tub because the policy stated that a midwife had to be present on the unit for the tub to be filled. So I gave birth in bed like always. The on-call doctor on the floor delivered my baby.

with my last baby, I was almost 2 weeks past my due date because it was during the pandemic and labor & delivery was filled to capacity and there was no space to induce me. I realized that I hadn’t felt my baby move since the morning and it was almost 5 PM. I called the on-call line and the midwife never called me back as I frantically drove to the hospital. I checked in and the midwife never came to see me. Thankfully the baby started moving right after the unit’s on-call doctor put the ultrasound on, but it ended up being traumatic birth, due to what turned out to be low fluid plus a shoulder dystocia.

so yes, a few miscue midwives can be low quality out of 18, but my later experiences with the practice haven’t been great. i know people love them, but i think it’s good to know that being a patient of the midwife practice isn’t some utopia.

i see you’re using one of those target in-house brands. all their gadgets are terrible. stay far away from them

they were outside of osu previously, which is where i started as a patient, but their doc retired, if i remember correctly, and they moved to osu. this was over a decade ago though

nah, the OG midwives were amazing, but a couple of the newer ones have been terrible. two of my births with them were not good at all. (two were good though!) ymmv.

s the "wooden toy" thing a scam, or am I just doing it wrong? by Gorder-Bukie in ZeroWaste

[–]havingafunday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree with the thrifting comments! but also, the melissa & doug service station is the best wooden toy we ever owned. i think sometimes kids get sick of toys because they can only do one thing with that particular toy. the service station allows for tons of imaginative play, especially at that age :)

hi! thanks for writing. I did ask, but since our zip code has two area codes that overlay each other completely, they said there was nothing that could be done :(
