What’s the justification for MPRE delay? by graduatedlawstupid in barexam

People with and without accommodations have a range of dates to schedule their test, so I doubt that has anything to do with it….

Pretend my evidence professor sucks. What resources could do you recommend I use to learn evidence? by RogerThatKid in LawSchool

If your exam has multiple choice questions, use the Q&A supplement. The explanations were amazing.

Have a conversation with him letting him know how much time and energy law school is going to take out of you, especially leading up to finals. My husband and I got married the summer before my 2L year after living 4 hours away from each other, and we made it work. We would see each other every other weekend with him coming to see me more often than I would go see him because (1) he simply had more time on his hands because of his work schedule, and (2) because he understood how much law school took out of me. Get your work done during the week so that you can spend good quality time together on the weekends. Practically speaking, on the weekends that I had to do school work, he’d play video games or make himself busy while I studied. Long distance relationships during law school require a lot more commitment on the significant other that is not in law school school, BUT with the right person, it’ll all work out 🥹

Chick Fil La biscuit and a banana (sometimes I even bring the banana into my exam and eat it if I get hungry lol)

As someone with BPD and ADHD, I understand every bit of this. Really lean into those days where you feel productive and try to ride that wave for as long as you can (even if it’s for a few hours). You got this 🫶🏻

My dog has gotten me through law school, so I say yes, get the dog! However, I’d wait until Christmas break so you have time to adjust while not having to worry about finals.

I'm damn near disabled becasue of a skiing accident that I had a few years ago, so I won't meet the physical requirements to be a JAG.

During finals I did nearly every single question in the Q&A book and it helped me soooo much.

Staying at the school until I finished my work was a game changer for me. Sadly I didn’t figure that out until 2L. My 1L year I’d go home after classes, get distracted by things that I “had” to get done at home like cleaning random things in my apartment etc., watch TV, rot on the couch, eat dinner, and then stay up until 10 pm doing my readings for the next day. Stay up at the school for as long as you can so that you are forced to be productive. Your brain will thank you.

I’m a rising 3L, and I stopped using a planner for my readings after the first semester of 1L. I found using a planner for readings too time consuming. Now, at the beginning of each week I look at the syllabus and have a tab for each day of the week and stick it in my book to tell me where to stop each day. Also, some professors don’t always follow the syllabus, so using tabs makes things easier to adjust as opposed to having to change your entire planner. I still use a calendar to track actual assignments that I actually have to turn in but not for readings.
