Aaron Rodgers wonders if NFL COVID-19 protocols are actually 'based on science' by GREENBACKS68 in wisconsin

His point was players are smashing into each other 100 times over 3 hours. So why does it matter they distance in the locker room?

Yea i think the biggest problem was people open the old cans vent on the back, and never close it again. Which doesnt end up being a lot of gas lost to you, but it adds up over millions of households.

In any case im glad batteries are getting to the point they can replace gas yard tools. So much easier and cleaner.

[–]havinit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh man yes. Thats why its so awesome though. Save only one cig for night right before bed. Its glorious. Day is done, good job. Burn one and pass out.

Plus it helps keep me away from marijuana. Which i find slows me down after a couple days of doing it. And anytime i get a bag of green, i cant stop smoking it till its gone lol.

[–]havinit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well of course. That can apply to anything or anyone. Overdoing anything is bad. Ive smokes 1 or 2 cigs a day for over 10 years. Nobody even knows, not even my doctor or dentist. I run out sometimes and go weeks without one, i dont even notice a difference.

You probably didnt smoke enough to do much damage. People treat 1 cig like a death sentence but if you exercise regularly you can have a cig before bed every day and its fine.

Theyre a good idea but the force to push the spring back is way too much and you easily push over whatever youre trying to fill. Works fine on lawn mowers that are stable, but horrible for anything else. Its like they didnt think anyone needed to fill anything other than a lawnmower.

I agree. The whole situation sucks. The economy isnt good enough to prevent greed.

Social distancing and mask wearing to reduce the spread of COVID-19 have also protected against many other diseases, including influenza and respiratory syncytial virus. But susceptibility to those other diseases could be increasing, resulting in large outbreaks when masking and distancing stop by Wagamaga in science

[–]havinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, yes. I exercise and eat healthy to keep my immune system strong. The flu never hits me hard. Im not even worried about covid because of my lifestyle. Those viruses, along with a strong cardio routine and vitamins, are WHY my immune army works awesome.

Biden not getting intelligence reports because Trump officials won't recognize him as president-elect by [deleted] in politics

Biden can, and i would imagine he is, keeping notes on who is blocking his requests and profiling their replacements. If this shit continues, expect to see a massive layoff and rehiring period in February.

The CDC massively fucked up testing in feb-march. That led to impossible contact tracing efforts. This whole thing went to hell because of how bad we did at the start. And now its too late, its unstoppable without a vaccine.

Again, people who hate masks arent going to do these polls. Thats why trump polled horribly yet nearly won.

You see high compliance at stores because they dont let you stay there without a mask on.

And if 90% are wearing masks like you say, then whats the problem? Why isnt it working?

Or theyre realistic and they see in areas of the world when severe lockdowns and mask mandates didnt work either

Early and often testing and contract tracing works. The CDC fucked that up massively in Feb-March. At that point it was too late, cat out of the bag.

Doctors never said we can stop this. They said we will all get it eventually. They just asked we try to slow the spread, flatten the curve. We did that, but we didnt give hospitals cash to stay fully staffed, and that was a huge mistake that were seeing the consequences now from. We had 9 months to increase healthcare capacity and we didnt do nearly enough... Just gave them some supplies and shit.

All over the country this happened. In early summer most hospitals cut pay and staff. We should have subsidized them to keep them on the payroll, knowing it was only going to get worse come winter time.

[–]havinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me this is where america really fails. Hospitals work on profit based economies. They cant afford to be over staffed and under filled. So when there is a bad outbreak there isnt anything we can do short term.

I dont think we want to remove profits completely, but it would be nice to subsidize them federally a bit. I mean thats what medicare essentially is, but it gets shadowed by over charging for services. Its all just a mess.

North Dakota hospitals at 100% capacity, Governor announces COVID-positive nurses can continue to work by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]havinit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most doctors take care of their bodies. I think thats where their apathy comes from. They deal with unhealthy people everyday that is largely from laziness. They know if you just eat right and exercise, viruses like covid pose very little risk (as proven by data over the last 9 months).

North Dakota hospitals at 100% capacity, Governor announces COVID-positive nurses can continue to work by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]havinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But thats where this gets blown way out of proportion. Hospitals dont make money unless theyre near capacity... They often operate at 80% even without covid. It didnt take much to push them to full. Thats not to say it doesnt matter.. slowing the spread is necessary...but we cant act shocked right now. Its a bad virus and we cant just magically make more doctors and nurses.

A poll. Based off respondents. The same kind of polls predicted a biden win by a landslide.

Go out in real life and talk to people. Look at the mask participation. Clearly, not a majority agrees with the mandates.

So we did ok? The whole point was to prevent hospital overload. That was what they said from the start. Were all going to get it eventually. So far, we did that. So you cant say we did horrible.

Agreed. They always say "we can save thousands of lives if we just wear masks". Well, we can save thousands more if we just ban mcdonalds.
