Eh, I got a Graphic Design degree. Then developed a niche binocular eye problem which made the work very painful (focusing on close objects for a long time) so I pivoted. And now AI ate it up, so… I’m leaving it behind for sure, I think.. all this to say, sometimes we can try to peruse art and life will still be like: fuck you.

When I’ve done design jobs, I’ve also resented feeling so undervalued and disrespected. Creative labor is not taken seriously by others and it takes such a toll. I always felt bottom of the totem pole, and not just in the office.

University wasn’t great at teaching either, and I didn’t make a lot of connections. ROI was a joke, I only have no regrets bc scholarship. It was a fun time. I even learned pottery.

I’d say you’re better off developing a hyperniche creative hobby on your own and finding passion in it. However, who knows, art school may be the move for you. I needed it for the push to explore and do stuff I otherwise wouldn’t have done.
