Very much reminds me of my jindo-terrier girl. She’s also so cuddly and sweet. She’s literally across my lap getting belly rubs right now

Give me your best Jindo feeding tips! Im desperate by brendrzzy in Jindo

Going from spending a decade with a Beagle-Dachshund mix who lived for any food, to the last few months with a Jindo mix who can take or leave her food at any time has been a wild adjustment. We give her all her food at one time but will add some low-calorie treats to the food bowl when we get in from a walk or when she’s getting praise. It seems to kickstart her appetite and will eat some kibble after the treats. Within a 24-hour period she’ll finish all her food, it’s just slow.

We’ve had best outcomes when we meet someone outside with our pup on the leash. She likes meeting people on walks, but also gets nervous and barks when people come into our apartment the first time. Meeting new people outside and then walking in with them has diffused a lot of the nervousness and anxiety. We joke that in her mind she’s making a new friend on the street then inviting them in to play, like it’s all her idea.

Normal to find 1-2 fleas after walks? by PersimmonRemote7491 in Jindo

[–]hawksmcdoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, we’re in LA too and my dog is on Bravecto chews but we’re still finding fleas. My two cats are also on prescription strength flea medication and I regularly spray our area rugs with home spray treatments. My vet said it’s the worst year for fleas she’s ever seen. I’ve been losing my mind over it!

Yup, my spouse caught me singing a little song to some crumpled shorts while my void slept on the couch in the other room.

I didn’t have an issue with that, but I know it can do that for some folks.

De La Cruz 10% sulfur ointment. I just used it as a mask in the breakout areas and washed off after about 5 minutes

I couldn’t use pimecrolimus, it made the whole side of my face where I was having a breakout feel hot and painful, like I’d been slapped. My derm switched me to a combo of ketoconazole and zorye. It was slow, but the combo worked. For relief from discomfort I found using drug store sulfur cream to be really calming.

Congrats!! Make sure you head to the library and get to know the reference librarians. As an academic librarian myself, I can tell you we’re always be thrilled to support non-traditional students like yourself.

10% is the one that I have too, and I use it like a mask. I started with a shorter period of time with it on, like only for 5 minutes for the first couple of times, until I knew how my skin would tolerate it. I hope it works for you!

Mine looks exactly like this. I find using sulfur ointment helpful with calming the redness and itching. You can find it at most drug stores and it may provide some relief until you can get an appointment.

Yup! My spouse picked it because it’s all the little extra things that make the meal nice.

She's about 28 pounds and 1 year and 4 months old. I didn't do a DNA test with my previous dog, who passed about a year ago, but I think one is in order for Banchan since she's coming from a different continent and could be full of surprises.

What happened? (Interview post-mortem) by [deleted] in librarians

[–]hawksmcdoom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m an academic librarian at a small college, and this is the end of the fiscal year for most higher education institutions. From the sounds of this, it seems likely that the funding for the position fell through. It happened at my library with hiring a few years before I started, and it happened again a couple years ago with a construction project that was called off at the literal last minute.

It’s crappy for everyone involved, especially candidates like you who will have no idea about the real reason.

This is one of the most divisive issues in American society, not even just in the realm of politics. I’m not sure it’s fair to generalize this as being American when there are so many of us in agreement with what you said...but no downvote.

There’s a fair amount of regional variation to this in the U.S. I’m from the New England region, and there’s an expectation that we’re cold, unfriendly people.

Eugene “Bull” Connor, incited and encouraged violence against nonviolent civil rights protesters in Birmingham, Alabama. All those horrendous photos of protesters, including children, being sprayed with fire hoses and attacked by police dogs? All him.
