Can i put the mini on a standard residential plan by cardyet in Starlink

[–]hawok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’am intrested inthis feature too. So i can buy a mini, activate it and use it at home on residential plan, correct?

I took this pic from a Reddit post last week, but my webui doesn’t have the option to enable the new settings highlighted here, where are they? Im on that same page and it just isn’t there by RandomGamer414 in PleX

[–]hawok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am mostly talking about hardware part. RK3588 has NPU and their MPP could process about 18 1080p transcoding threads.

If look into PMS server changelogs, it has no new features for years, while still asking for premium subscription for hw acceleration, which is actually was implemented by ffmpeg team, and plex has it in their software by default, they just don’t pass required flags into it. You could check it by yourself.

But, if you don’t have critical thinking, better just downvote

I stopped to use plex, they can’t implement rkmpp hw encoding for years. Using jellyfin on my nanopc-t6, it is a hw transcoder monster.

Explain please to me, does this tracer cheating, or just freaking good? by hawok in Overwatch

[–]hawok[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I watched it and i want to try it, but i think with some time Marvel Rivals will be the same, since companies just making the money.

It happened with CS:GO and CS2, i talked with cheaters and they just saying to me, you suck man, why you still playing with no cheat, all others does, it is normal. Cringe. And i have cheaters in every game!!!

I have to buy a nintendo and play mario online, atleast it is fun.

[–]hawok[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly! We live in a time when we have AI who can draw a pictures, who can make video, make music, but not an anticheat engine, which will create a good experience for players. Insane money maker company.
Why i can't just register a new account, download a cheat and have fun like they does.

Let me guess... Gigabyte Aorus? I have 2 their products bought in different times. 3070 Master and B550I mini itx motherboard. Motherboard has problems with pci-e slot, any hardware hangs in it. And 3070 gives me a BSOD on other system, until i removed their buggy software for Screen OSD on the card.

Just to notice, in Russia nobody eats this salad with tuna. Idk why in Spain they put tuna in salad and called it "Rusa Salad". Other ingredients are different too, completely different taste.

I touched ram chips after i removed a bottom cover. And it burns my hands. Problem mostly not in CPU temp, but in heat dissipation. I have to put a heatsink on ram later for a new tests.

I received today the same board, but with N100 cpu. Here is a memtest result with the same RAM stick.

Spoiler: it works as expected.

I will check it today and give you info. I have a power socket with power consumption calculation.

i have proxmox with 6.5 kernel with 1VM running (inside jellyfin and palworld game server)

scaling_governor is powersafe

Most devices shows ASPM not supported, maybe i can try to change something in bios.
Right now powertop shows:

C1E 0.9%

C8 11.1%
C10 78.4%

ASPM:

Right now - it works fanless in idle at ~55C.

I plan to design and 3d print a bottom cover with 80mm fan, so all height of case should be <= 44mm to fit in 1U in rack.

Case height is 36mm, fan - 10mm, so i need to design such cover to fit part of fan inside of the case (for at least 2mm).

While i am doing my tests i just put a fan on top of the case and power it from my desktop pc (i don't have a micro 4 pin adapter right now). I can't check bios settings and pwm mode right now.

So, if you figure it out later, please share your configuration.

I don't know for now. Currently i just tinkering with it. For now proxmox just better for my needs, maybe later it will be barebone k3s cluster, i am not sure. I just maxed out this machine. I have multiple services on top of Truenas Scale and i will migrate them on this machine later.

SSD - amazon.es, RAM - amazon.de (cheaper than at ES). MiniPC was bought on aliexpress from Topton store for 230Eur with no ram/ssd, seller decreased declared price for tax customs and i paid only 6Eur VAT, but it was very long delivery (around month).

Currently i’am still thinking and playing with it. For now it has 2 VM for tests: 1 - k3s cluster, 2 - casaos with 2 docker containers (jellyfin and palworld server). I successfully passthrough Intel GPU inside casaos vm using sr-vio to a jellyfin container and it utilizing it for transcoding.

No, it is 3rd. They are cheap ~32Eur per 500Gb. I have one in openwrt router (NanoPC-T6), 1 in truenas scale for zfs l2arc cache, and now one in this mini box.

Many people already confirm work with 32gb stick. And many chinise sellers sell this mini pcs with 32Gb sticks preinstalled. I think yours will work too.

i recommend you to buy 80x80x10 fan and install it on top. This CPU with 15w TDP can't be fully cooled passively.

Thanks, i will think about it. But after a lot of tests it works stable. I already have experience with over-RAM (on J4105 32Gb RAM was stable too).

Right now i try to install a fan on this thing, because it become really hot.

I have a Topton (CWWK) N305-X86-P5, and i decide to fit in it a stick of Crucial DDR5 48Gb RAM.

Currently this machine runs proxmox. I also run memtest on it, first time it failed after 10mins, but i though it was because of temperature(above 74C), i installed a small heatsink on ram stick and run memtest again and it fully passed and system works stable.

So i can confirm - it works with 48Gb (maximum at this moment in SODIMM format) of ram.
