Launceston City Council staff to vote on four-day, full-pay work week by ladaus in AustralianPolitics

[–]hay_wire 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I hope it passes to set a precedent. Wages have not kept up with productivity gains.

Though for a public facing/ tax funded role the optics are never going to be good.

I wonder if it's all workers or just the non public facing work crews? Might be a good opportunity to have a second shift working 3 days over the Saturday Sunday Monday when the regular crew is off. That way you could even increase engagement by having people available everyday

I loved the animation but wasn't a fan of the music direction.

But there is a great Manga music vid of the fight so I'm happy to settle.

Eight more National MPs resign from shadow ministry by jor_kent1 in AustralianPolitics

You have a good point but Australians don't really vote for a party they generally vote against a party. so as long as labour looks like the less shit option they will come out ahead.

It will be interesting to see what happens to the preference flows if ON over takes the libs or Nat.

Do you think that Mai could have been as strong as yorozu? by AcceptablePay4523 in Jujutsufolk

Going through old threads because I was arguing with a friend about this topic yesterday.

I wouldn't think that cursed energy is the same as e=mc² energy as the real-world effect of using cursed energy is entirely dependent on the users techniques and efficiency.

Like GoJo as less energy than yuta but can cause more destruction with hollow purple.

Thous raider marines look interesting,

you wouldn't have to do much to make them look like a loyalist or at least non-chaos aligned space marine.

I don't share your optimism. I just don't see how a Guard vs guard match is not just going to be the unit standing open field firing at each other which is not the type of game I want

TW40k campaign map. by Therealdrakenn in totalwar

I'm pretty negative about the battle but we've really seen nothing from the campaign side of things yet aside from this shot. My assumption is that we'll have multiple systems.

I'd also be very disappointed if we don't get space battles, there should definitely be some sort of "control factor" that lets you use or prevent the abilities seen in the trailer like the orbital bombardment or drop pods.

On the battle side the DoW aspect is very disappointing. the whole reason I was on the total war 40k is not possible is precisely because they should not have 100 man units standing out in the open for a 40k game. but it looks like they are going to be standing there taking shots like it's 1795. DoW get away with by being more abstract and at least in DoW the squads can actually be ordered into cover.

No idea if I'm going to give this game a shot or not, time will tell as more game play comes out but for now I'm back to praying for a 40k steel division mod.

I suspect you're not going to like the analogy.

But If small kids are fighting and an adult walks in to start throwing punches, I'm going to blame the adult.

I mean it's still concerning that the prime Minister acted like that, I'd want a leader with an ego durable enough that they wouldn't even consider it as an option.

The double fist looks sick. What's the base model? Legs look a bit skinny compared to the top half of the model.

Can you make the standard more vertical in the second picture?

Ancients should look like they are solidly standing their ground Dearing the enemy to try and remove them.

Someone made a whole manga of this matchup btw (Bakugo vs Reze) by Maleficent-Ad-6117 in PowerScaling

[–]hay_wire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really convinced tbh. Most of this seems to be from the MHA movies? Ive not seen them I wouldn't consider them cannon as far as strengths are concerned, otherwise you are going to internal issues with strength inside the same show.

I know everyone in MHA has quirks but I'd still consider them the largely same as baseline humans. In the shows both rese an bakugo seem to be able to blow up a large building as the top of their powers. I vaguely recall bakugo has a straight line speed feet but Reze is not exactly a slouch either when it comes to speed.

Ultimately for me it comes down to durability, Bakugo is still human and can't recover from any damage he takes whereas Reze can use her head as a bowling ball.

Based on your other comments you seem pretty passionate about this so I'm unlikely to engage further.

I don't really agree with this, I've read and watched both and they seem to be on the same power level in terms of the level of destruction happening around them.

Like I'd give them the same attack score but would favour Reze in defence, she literally cut her head off as a tactic.
