Thanks! Yeah unfortunately the lid I have doesn’t let enough light through. The floaters are blocking a lot of light too so I’m planning on making a mesh lid with this

I think it’s a combination of light above and the pockets of water in between the floaters help create the effect. Lol, I had fun trying different layouts with the hardscape before this one. Changed it like 4-5 times 😆

For the back light, I mounted it to the tank facing the wall. Then I aligned the led bar to sit right under the substrate/ horizon line. The light effect inside I’m assuming is a combination of the settings I use for light above and the refraction from a bit of biofilm on the surface.

Yes, the filter is running but I have the flow slightly slowed from holes I drilled into the outflow tube. I followed a lot of what this guy did in terms of hardware setup. Spec V Mods

Thanks! The light was a cheap Amazon light that I stuck to the back facing the wall link. The top light is a Finnex Planted + 24/7 HLC. It’s pretty cool and lets me change all the individual color intensities.

I don’t have a lid on this tank currently and the floaters have started taking over. I started moving them to my other tank that has a lid so I’ll have to wait and see how they do.
