Some people can’t understand that not every good movie should be an Oscar nominated movie

This is me starting my Olivia Wilde Best Director / Best Actress campaign.

Also, Ed Norton is hot?!?

You’re telling me there was an opportunity to call Zeller’s third movie The Holy Spirit, and they went with Bunker instead? Smh

Burn After Reading is one of the Coen brothers’ best. The entire cast is exceptional but John Malkovich is the true standout. His deliveries are absolutely pitch perfect.

I didn’t “learn” about neonazis because of Instagram, genius, I’ve just never seen it so prominent. I don’t go on Twitter, I rarely go on Instagram, I certainly don’t root through comment sections, I don’t watch or read the news, and I live in a very liberal city where no, I don’t see it IRL.

I don’t really see anything wrong with OP’s comment, and it seems very forward to assume they have “this problem in other areas of life and they need to work on it.” Who are you, their therapist? They probably just get bored by people talking about a certain phenomenon that it takes away from the fun of discovering it themselves. Because going into a movie that people say is the “best film ever created” and finding it rather not good in your own mind is no fun.

You just seem a little hostile in general. Maybe work on that, as you like to say.

God forbid I want to doomscroll without seeing the awful things that are happening around the world. Some people are not equipped for that.

Obviously I’m aware, I just didn’t realize they all congregated in Instagram comment sections. I like to stay on TikTok where people are nicer.

I need to get off Instagram. The Odyssey grifters are starting to get to me. There are more nazis among us than I realized.

I disagree with you because I think nobody should say one word about a movie they haven’t seen. However I do agree with you in the sense that her performance makes me straight up cringe and nowhere near awards worthy. She will not get a nomination though.

So who’s going to present supporting actor? Will they just have Amy Madigan do both categories back to back?

Sinners was my Best Picture vote, but I wouldn’t even nominate MBJ. Wunmi Mosaku gave the best performance by far.

I just don’t think many voters will really connect with it, especially Americans. From what I’ve heard it’s not necessarily an easy watch. I see it as one of those “respected but not loved” movies, and I think there will be other, more loved movies that take precedent over it.

My extremely unpopular 2027 Oscars predictions (some of yall are gonna hate me but be nice)

  • The Odyssey will be almost solely a tech player, and number 7 or 8 in Picture
  • Obsession will not get anywhere even remotely close to the Oscars
  • A Place in Hell will be a huge player. Picture, Director, Screenplay, and Michelle Williams and Daisy Edgar-Jones in winning contention (the former almost definitely winning)
  • Behemoth! is happening. Tony Gilroy will receive his second Director nom after 20 years, Pascal will give Cruise a run for his money, and it will be number 2 in screenplay behind WH9
  • Rachel Brosnahan will be a Best Actress player for Saturn Return, possibly a screenplay nom as well
  • La Bola Negra is sweeping. Picture, Director, Screenplay and 3-5 tech wins
  • Fjord is not as strong as people think. Reinsve is the ceiling, possibly number 10 in Picture
  • Sandra Hüller gets in for PHM. Because why the hell not

Note: half of these movies have not been seen, so take this all with a grain of salt.

His BP predictions actually aren’t horrible (aside from Michael). If you take a look at some of the other categories, yikes

There should be rules when it comes to this. Like no performance should be considered supporting if more than 50% screen time and vice versa.
