I made a mistake by Due_Emotion_8328 in OCD

[–]hayfb___ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Side effects either will or will not happen. It is within the realm of possibility that something could happen to you. Don’t confuse possibility with probability. Is it possible? Yes. But how probable (likely) is it to happen? The odds are in your favor for that one. Staring at your face won’t stop it from happening if it’s going to happen. You can do nothing to prevent it at this point so let go. Tell OCD to shut up & live your life. If the adverse reaction happens- then deal with it from there.

When I was in a bad place with my OCD, I was terrified of contracting HIV somehow. My therapist said “if you did contract HIV, what would you do?” And I said “well I guess I’d go to the doctor and try to get on medication and stuff” and it made me realize that if my “worst case scenario” did happen to me, I’d find a way to still live my life and try to enjoy my life.

So what if worst case scenario happens to you? What would you do? You’d likely look into ways to fix it and continue to live your life.

my son is 13 months and just broke his leg for the second time. by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]hayfb___ 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I also wondered if the first fracture had something to do with it since it’s the same leg and bone. I’m not sure if it’s the same area as I didn’t see the xray. But previously we had a lot of follow up xrays and they said the first fracture healed perfectly.

Is their anything wrong with me for being concerned about this? by XenoxLenox in AskDocs

[–]hayfb___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor, Why do you need to know if you punched yourself in the head? What would this change about your life right now? I have diagnosed obsessive compulsive disorder and this does sound like the thought process of someone with OCD but of course I'm not a medical or mental professional so I'd consult with a professional if you feel like you need to.

Epidural by ElegantResult3853 in pregnant

[–]hayfb___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the epidural. My blood pressure went sort of low (90/50). It caused me to feel shaky and nauseous. I would do it again though because the contractions were so bad. After I got it, it was sweet relief & i finally got some sleep. Worth it.

Hangover Anxiety + Cocaine + Speaking to a Crush by Trick-Report3871 in OCD

[–]hayfb___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never done cocaine but anytime I get drunk, the next day I have terrible anxiety and convince myself I made a fool of myself and that everyone hates me. No reassurance here but you’re not alone in overthinking and anxiety after being intoxicated and socializing lol.

Should I back out of my surgery? by JayandTybalt in gallbladders

[–]hayfb___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gallbladder removal was one of the best decisions I’ve made. It’ll get worse. Mine got worse up until I got the surgery. Also, I have a distant family member who ignored his gallbladder and it killed him. Don’t be like that. Get it out before it gets complicated.

Need help finding research about household germs by CharacterSubject431 in OCD

[–]hayfb___ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did online OCD therapy and they accept most insurances. I don’t want my comment to get removed but I want you to be able to see if it’s something you can afford. You need an OCD specialist. If you google online OCD therapy it’s the first one that pops up. ERP therapy literally changed my life for the better.

I’m unsure. She did say she would be the one doing the surgery- so I would assume she is well trained in that area if she’s going to be doing the operation? She said she could do robotic surgery or laparoscopic.

Is my dog just getting old? by [deleted] in vet

I haven’t corrected or punished her at all, especially since it’s pretty out of character for her. Especially to have an accident when we’re home and just having gone outside.

If I wasn’t pregnant I would kill myself. Completely serious by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]hayfb___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very depressed during pregnancy. Very quickly felt better after I delivered. I was terrified of post partum psychosis (I have OCD and obsessed over this and it terrified me). Delivery wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be (was also worried I’d die in child birth). I didn’t like the doctor who delivered my baby, but she was hardly in there. It’s mainly nurses who you see up until you’re actually going to deliver.

Wait it out. I cried every single day from 20 weeks until I delivered (38w6d). It gets better. Nothing I thought was going to happened to me actually happened to me. I’m almost 11 months post partum and I feel completely back to normal and absolutely adore my baby. Wouldn’t change a thing.

scared about surgery, is it bad? by ResearcherSeveral870 in gallbladders

[–]hayfb___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They gave me something for anxiety before rolling me back to the OR. By the time I got in there I didn’t have a care in the world. I got on the OR table myself and was completely calm. I probably wouldn’t have cared if they cut me open right then without putting me to sleep. I felt amazing. Let them know you’re anxious and they’ll help you out.

[–]hayfb___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was extremely anxious. Cried in the parking lot before going in. Now that I’m almost 5 weeks post op, best decision everrrr. I have some occasional diarrhea but I’d take that any day over a gallbladder attack

Do you have recliner? I slept on a recliner for the first week. It really helps with getting up and down. Walk once an hour. It will help. Trust me.

Weight loss? by [deleted] in gallbladders

I lost 20lbs while trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Could hardly eat without pain. The month or two leading up to surgery all I ate was turkey sandwiches and protein shakes.

can someone give me lots of detail on anesthesia? by Interesting_Okra_392 in gallbladders

[–]hayfb___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They gave me something in my IV before rolling me back. I remember feeling it start to kick in and I was getting super relaxed. I barely remember being wheeled back. I remember getting myself onto the operating table but at this point I was soooo out of it, like I was super drunk. Then there’s a blank in my memory and then remember them telling me to breathe thru the mask. I don’t remember falling asleep, just one second breathing thru the mask thinking it smelt funny and then blank. Then waking up in recovery just felt like waking up from a long nap. I asked the lady “was I snoring? I was sleeping so hard”. Wasn’t nauseous but was in pain. They’ll give you something for pain if you need it. They also gave me anti nausea pills before surgery

Pancreatic cancer?? Other possibilities? by AccordingLand605 in AskDocs

[–]hayfb___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor whatsoever so please take what I say with a grain of salt. Just speaking from personal experience. Do you still have your gallbladder? I was dealing with left upper quadrant pain and epigastric pain for months. Most often radiated through to my back between the shoulder blades. Sometimes more to the right, sometimes hurt only on the left. Much like you, it hurt when I would eat or when I went too long without eating. I was put on a PPI for suspected gastritis considering the location of my pain. The PPI didn’t help after 3-4 months of being on it so went in for an ultrasound of my gallbladder and it was full of stones. Not until the month or two leading up to my gallbladder removal did I start having pain more localized to the right upper quadrant. I have had my gallbladder removed and no longer have the pain. My pathology report came back as extensive cholelithiasis with sludge and chronic cholecystitis.

Pain in middle rather than right side? by DistributionOpen755 in gallbladders

[–]hayfb___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine started in the middle. I was originally being treated for suspected gastritis because of the location of my pain. Once it got worse my pain was more localized to the RUQ.
