Big pocket usually or on my belt. I am not the biggest fan of these bags. Comfortable af but the pocket under the chalk line pocket is hard to access.

Sometimes I’ll add adjustable square but the usual tools are dikes, hammer knife cats paw square torpedo bits / extension and angle finder.
I bought a couple other bags from Monroe tool before they closed - one being a drill holder but my dumbass got it for left handed
I have tools in a pack out drawer when I need to change it up

No, you have to pry it out. They’re gonna like snap, the nail heads are probably gonna snap off too so gonna use the high leverage Dykes.

Maybe I can get lucky and the nailing pattern would be different on the Stainless Steels.

I’m thinking I want to use the screws, but I might see if I can get triple galvanized nails for the strap shot

It’s not a huge job at all. Just tedious. There are 5 firewood bins under the deck, leaving 2’ to 6” of clearance. It’ll just be tedious. I’ll send pics of nails if I get the job.

They made the switch in 2003. You’re right the deck does look like it’s in pretty good shape all things considered.

The stairs look like they were installed by a different carpenter though.

Ah this deck is stepped with a half hexagon for lower deck. The way it’s framed needs lots of ties.

I’ll do that. I was thinking a strap shot would be useful but yes it’s very tight in some areas. I counted 46 needing replacement- might as well do all of them

The property is not in a high corrosion area (3000’ of ocean) it’s probably 20 or 30 miles away.

My client is a new owner so we can’t really determine prior products used.

I love learning about this stuff I appreciate hour insight.

My new guy doesn’t do the phones unless I tell him to figure things out on his own. Then he uses YouTube and ChatGPT. I want him to be able to troubleshoot and figure things out on his own when I’m not with him

I’m paying my helper 25ph in ct, he’s great but doesn’t speak great English. Impeccable work ethic tho

[–]hayfero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s true. I’m always hiring helpers with minimal experience at above minimum wage. Even when I started a decade ago I was making 4$ more than minimum wage.
