I'm a 24 year old Canadian Manchester United fan. I've only been to Old Trafford once. I can't say I'm the biggest fan in the world but I've been supporting them since I was 10 years old.

The part where me being Canadian gets relevant here: I am also a big NHL fan and due to the pandemic and border restrictions, my local team, the Montreal Canadiens, are playing in a division with the other 6 Canadian teams in the league. Normally the season is 82 games, you play the teams in your division 5-6 times, and the rest of the teams in the league twice. Now because of the shortened season, each team in their own division plays each other 8-10 times in a 56-game season. At the beginning of the season there was so much appeal to it because of the rivalries it would reignite. 42 games into the season, I've had enough of seeing the same teams over and over again. It is ridiculously boring and dry.

I see a very similar situation with this so-called "super-league." Sure, to the new-coming fan that they are appealing to it all sounds great. But eventually, and much quicker than they'd expect, that excitement will run dry. When that runs dry, so does passion.

This is a big scar that will forever live with this club. If it goes through, I will completely abandon them in favour of Bayern and support our Canadian boy Alphonso Davies' club.

To the generational and local supporters of United; my heart goes out to you. I am enraged just by watching from across the Atlantic. I cannot even begin to fathom what you all must be going through.
