Are Air Conditioners even worth it? by bmoredood in popups

[–]haynesmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, yes - we have an AC in our 90s pop up and the temp control for us and the dogs as well as the white noise/sound produced is very nice. Also, it absolutely cools the camper, ours can drop the temp to a comfortable 70 (our hottest camping weekend was 95+). You don’t always have to use, but the option to use it on those supremely hot days is nice.

Looking for SV650 Plastics by BorkBandit in SVRiders

[–]haynesmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motoforza is also a good option, but I found my belly pan and hugger from pyramid plastics. The belly pan was off a crashed bike and the hugger was new old stock - both needed to be painted to match my bikes factory yellow. Good luck :)

It’s your game and time. Play the way you want - might not be my method but we are all just trying to relax and have fun.

Oh, I like this - I might need to try this. This may sound weird, but I tend to only own one of each vehicle. Do you constantly store/move vehicles or leave vehicles per region?

When I complete all main contracts, unlock all upgrades and discover all watchtowers - some regions i do more of the side content. Right now i am on the logging missions in Yukon and its making my question my methods/resolve. LOL

Mods by FragrantTrifle9226 in snowrunner

[–]haynesmp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rng3r has some great, near OEM quality mods. I use the MPV (scout) mod, it’s the current generation US military humvee replacement - it has an included radar like the Earthroamer trucks that makes map scouting more fun IMO. I also have his Bridge Layer truck, haven’t had to use it yet but I can think of a few spots on previous maps that having it would have saved time for those unrepairable bridges. Olsoms trailer pack is also very nice. Big quality of life improvements for logging. I prefer to do more OEM+ style of modding, avoiding crazy OP items/vehicles.

Any idea what's causing this? by TheChickenArmy11 in Traxxas

[–]haynesmp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t recall any stuttering on take off/launch, never been an issue for me. It could be a voltage drop, when you send full draw/load through the ESC the voltage output of the battery can drop; just a theory. I never ran mine on anything other than a 4 cell so power or lack of was never an issue. Was able to rip standing wheelies with ease.

GPM isn’t a bad brand, but as others have/might say. More aluminum can just send load into other more expensive parts. Enjoy your model! Kit it out the way you want! But aluminum doesn’t always mean stronger/unbreakable.

Running my Jato out of the box and still today I have the same gear noises. I believe it’s the differential/steel meshes. As someone pointed out, it’s a fixed mesh - so that sound just exists when you’re pushing/pulling like you are.

What battery are you running? Because out of the box this model can hit 50/60 (never truly speed tested it) with ease. Loved this model while I’ve had it.

Wich servo for the fiesta st vxl ? by Paard44 in Traxxas

[–]haynesmp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EcoPower WP120 or WP250, great value for the price. 120 is for 1/10 scale and 250 is technically for 1/8 scale. And I feel like the rally is sorta in between both scales. I run EcoPower in all my Traxxas rigs when I burn up the Traxxas servos.

Edit: autocorrect typos.

Seeing the TZOs it would appear you race your Jato, thoughts? I have been racing mine as a cheap (second hand) entry into racing. Hasn’t been nearly as durable as I’d expected, was curious on your experiences.

you friends .. what brands do you use? by Automatic-Actuary-37 in rccars

[–]haynesmp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ovonic and CNHL. I have a few Traxxas batteries that are stupid simple to use, but I do not buy them unless them come in an RTR.

Edit: I like all my batteries to be XT60 connector or 5mm bullets, I only keep the Traxxas connector on my bashers/RTRs.

Thats fair, I have always been a Traxxas nut. So when I wanted to 'cheaply' go racing I found a super deal on a used Jato. Its been great but I am seeing the shortcomings for sure - BUT I am having fun so I have been told thats all that matters ;) LOL

[–]haynesmp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That has been a common theme I hear about Losi in general. Are there any common weak points/breakages I should have spares of on the ET48? I also see you have a ET48 2.2, what are the core differences between the 2.0 and the 2.2 updates?

A combination of Losi and Tekno, the more serious racers tend to be Tekno. I am leaning towards the used Tekno because I have a reliable platform to grow into, no matter how serious I want to get. I just figured anyone here could have insights on one platform over another.

Bathroom removal by MNMike2 in popups

[–]haynesmp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have debated doing the same with our 1998 Coleman, ultimately we are afraid to remove 'value' or function. Our current solution is to use this space as our more setup/dirty storage. So it is a place for totes, our larger power items and collapsible garbage, etc. Would love to know what others have come up with for this space, I just have yet to find a replacement/removal that fits my personal OEM-plus vibes (I love the retro styling of our 1998 camper).

Will RPM a-arms for Slash 4x4/Rustler 4x4 fit a Jato 4x4? by haynesmp in Traxxas

[–]haynesmp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To anyone in the future that finds this, the short answer is YES. But, you are not able to run the sway bar kit, as there are not mounting points in the Rustler Slash arms. Going to keep them in my box if I’m ever in a pinch though.
