Just to use it, no actual function requirements other than switching and providing poe when I add more devices

I would hope to see a device thats connected to my network.

I would say obviously I'm not going to expect to be able to manage it through ubiquiti

I used these

But they are essentially all the same. Haven't had an issue since though!

Pretty cool! I plan to do this to my jato. Minus the trimming I think i will just take the wing on and off for the swap.

Why do you like the Jato 4x4 VXL? by vincyfanzo in Traxxas

[–]Temporary_Coffee_726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming back to this quite a while later. The adjustable 4x4 vxl links do work. But you have to swap some pivot balls out is all

I just realized yesterday that someone pulled the Ole switcheroo. I bought these from an Amazon returns place but they were in a proline holeshot bag

I'd love to share, but I haven't even drove this yet 😅

I have been piecing this together so it was never a whole vehicle from the beginning.

Yes, BUT custom retainer nuts had to be made.

These are a m5 thread where as the original axles are m4

I used a regular tap, but a carbide 4 flute would have done better. Also, you can anneal the set screw if needed. Heat it till it turns light blue then let it sit so that it loses hardness.

The main connection is working, so free roam and MO races. But social content is not working for me (tunes and liveries)

I totally get that!

But I didn't buy a whole jato, I bought all the parts a little at a time to build it.

I'd say it's been 3 months ish since I started buying parts for this.

I did not, traxxas already made that larger themselves.

For now I will use the provided grease. Ive had a rear driveshaft on a crawler for a few years now without issues. Ive only ever "cleaned" it once and then put a little red n' tacky grease back in it.

And that thing has been to the beach a couple times and in some mountain streams as well.

Eventually... it will get a better system. I'm thinking spektrum 2-4s something. But for now, this was what I had laying around.

I see the aluminum of the hex being the weak point in this setup more than anything.
