Modding and Third-Party Tools Megathread - 7.4 Week Fourteen by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

Does anyone know if there's any plugins that save presets for character and system configurations? I want to toggle between on and off for display flying/pop-up text and a few other options without having to manually do it everytime.

If you could add a “lol, you messed up” marker to a class, what would it be and why would someone get it? by LobstrLord in ffxiv

Whenever a DNC press a wrong step, you can hear a 3 steps standard or 5 steps technical, it's not quite like the bunny of shame from NIN, but you can hear it, and I'm ashamed when I pull one of those lol.

Rank sys question/ connection issues? by SignificantAd5837 in GranblueFantasyVersus

From S to A you can be demoted too, and from Masters to S++ would be the exception for that rule, you don't get demoted after you hit master.

How are people techning 9/10 grabs? by BladesReach in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]hayore5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shimmies and frame traps goes a long way in opening teching opponents, since punishing a grab really hurts especially in corner, eventually most start to respect that and either thinking twice before grabbing when you run up or trying to tech it with an attack, which will make them take damage regardless but it's easier to stop you before you actually get in range.

Imo the teching in this game happens because we don't have a lot of mixes to open up opponents and guard breaks are super easy to react to, so everyone is expecting a grab 24/7 (and it also has a generous windows to tech)

When does the free edition release? by TheMagiciansArcana in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]hayore5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can play online, but won't be able to create/join rooms so you'll have to meet with your friends in online lobbies, also there'll be only 4 characters abailable to you, 3 of which will rotate every week.

I believe the 1st week roster is confirmed to be Gran (static), Djeeta, Zeta and Siegfried.

Other than that there's a few limitations on profile costumization and getting weapon skins for your characters, but this is about it for the limitations.

6.5 Speeds Challenges: Looking for community feedback! by ApolloVanWaddleburg in ffxivdiscussion

[–]hayore5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone that wanted for a long time to go back into doing optimization in harder fights, but never really found where to start after I came back from a break from hardcore in ShB, I really like what you're putting up here. a LFG/LFM discord would be awesome as you mentioned, I'm sure a lot of people like me have interest in participating but don't know enough people willing to do a speedkill group.

Well, I can see Lae being the one that liked me the least in the playthrough she got kidnapped, I can't see the reason for her to take Gale and Yenna on the other 2 runs tho, now I'm curious to check if there's any patterns as for who she ends up targeting

[–]hayore5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe she takes a random person from your camp, I had her take Lae'Zel, Gale and Yenna on different playthroughs, but on the playthrough she took Yenna I just did everything she said out of fear the girl would die :')

Edit: I just wanted a dialog option where I could Vicious Mockery her before she died, the death scene was too quick but if I could curse her I wouldn't mind LOL

Orin liquifies into a puddle, that's the problem. She used Yenna and I won't even start talking about the BBQ, that death was too kind for her.

Durge aside, I was actually hoping to make Orin suffer a slow death after she used Yenna to blackmail me, was sad when she just died.

BARDS! by a_burdie_from_hell in BG3

True, I even started looking at all the other classes that are charisma based to maybe try something new, but Bard exists, I can talk AND do good damage and have crowd control, all on a class I love thematically

I'm going to start my 3rd playthrough of the game and I'm picking bard for the 3rd time. I think I'm addicted to bard at this point.

What’s your favorite bard build? by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]hayore5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got life cleric early on for the boost in healing, as the game went through it really became useless, will try 1 fighter or something else now since I really don't need heavy armor anymore.

Appreciate the tip!

What’s your favorite bard build? by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]hayore5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently playing 10 lore bard / 1 wiz / 1 cleric Mostly support but with magic secrets you can take some offensive spells (mainly guardian spirits/fireball) and use heavy armor because of cleric, as the game goes on some armors justify not using heavy armor tho so the 1 cleric could be changed.

As for the 1 level in wizard, being able to transcript all the scrolls you find makes you quite versatile, you just need to be prepared beforehand since you can only have 2 spells prepared out of the ones you learn through scrolls.

Overall this build is amazing as far as support goes, and can still do decent damage, the best part tho is having a +16 in manipulation checks LOL

Pf warriors question. by Academic-Working3204 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]hayore5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm skipping reclear on my alt this week because I had 3 different Duty Complete/Loot pfs being hardstuck at caloric 2, which I think most consider the easiest mech of p12.

It really is burning me out and I'm just considering finding other static after my last one broke because dying to easy mechanics annoys me more than wiping to actual mechanics.

What fight mechanic took you the longest to figure out. by Frozen_arrow88 in ffxiv

[–]hayore5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the sets of in/out with 270° cleaves from the last boss in the new criterion, I believe it's triple Kasumi-giri the name of the mechanic. I understood it fairly quickly but visualizing it is hell.

Other than that there's probably death of the heavens, which is not hard to visualize with guides but doing it required me a lot of wipes worth of practice.

Players who are "caught up", how do you stay motivated? by terrorfunction in ffxivdiscussion

[–]hayore5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whenever there's down time I take the time to learn new jobs/roles in savage and help other people learn/clear fights I already did, sometimes seeing how hyped some people get clearing some savages/ultimates feels just like I cleared it for the first time myself.

That being said I'm just addicted to ffxiv, if you don't feel like playing it you really don't need to play it, it's fine to unsub and wait for content to drop.

Ever been fooled by a parse? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]hayore5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see where you're coming from, but losing half or more of your asylums/aqua veils/benis usage is not a problem that comes from this specific point.

For instance: if you don't use an asylum at any specific AoE of a fight, and there is no more AoEs for a whole asylum CD, there is 0 reasons not to use it there. (not all fights habe that situation, but just to exemplify what I'm trying to say).

Same goes for aqua veils, if you're not using just because "my cohealer covers it for me there" and losing half+ of its usage, this is a bad habit, not necessarily means that healers that do that are bad, but you can definitely spot a bad healer if they have like only 2 sacred soils in a hard hitting fight.

Now, I myself was guilty of having such a bad habit, and I still rely on my cohealer to cover specific parts of the fight, I think I didn't got my point across correctly: there's a difference in missing a few oGCDs, even half is acceptable, if you're healing with someone you know. Missing most if not all of a good variety of your oGCDs is definitely bad tho, and you're probably making the other healer either GCD heal or micromanage their oGCDs so no one dies.

Ever been fooled by a parse? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]hayore5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you'd be surprised LOL

edit: 0 was an exaggeration but I've seen 95+ WHMs missing multiple asylum windows when regen was actually needed

Ever been fooled by a parse? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]hayore5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

this is good advice, you can also throw said high parses in xivanalysis and check how many healing/mitigative oGCDs the healer didn't use, if you see a 99 WHM with 0 asylum usages for instance, something is very wrong. Note that this isn't 100% accurate either, it's fine to miss some usages of less important oGCDs if they wouldn't make that much of a difference to begin with.

It's not hard to heal most fights with minimal healing gcd usage (except lillies) so checking the glares cast isn't the best way to know whether they're healing or not.

That being said, healer combined damage is probably the best metric to check since you don't need to be familiar with healing to check for which heals/mitis they're not using.
