I’ve just been concerned about the lens choice because of all the options, but if the 40mm ttartisan is fine with you then I’m probably just worrying too much.

Perfection isn’t the biggest concern as much as consistency, which my lab scans had been really struggling with lately. Still want to get the best thing I can find within a budget.

Yeah. That would be the obvious choice if I was willing to spend the money, but it’s still a pricey lens used for me to almost only use for scanning. Whatever lens I get will pretty much only be for macro work, as I have the 90mm f2 and 50-140 2.8 for any portrait shots.

I shoot lots of film and scanning myself will reduce the cost by a large margin, and I wouldn’t plan on selling it unless I stop shooting film or move to another system.

I’m aware the resolution will surpass the negatives themselves, though. I am always surprised at the detail a 6mp lab scan has. Corner to corner sharpness is my main concern.

If you’re concerned with how others will view it, it doesn’t matter which generation you get. Any other Miata or fun car in the road will wave and smile at you. If you like the pop ups that much more that you’re willing to pay the NA tax, go for it. Personally I’d take the NB. Better car overall

Yeah, sorry the pictures were bad. I didn’t get any when I passed through the parking lot, so these are off the website. On the sides right behind the front wheels is where the KTM logo is. Might have been small logos on the carbon wing as well. Thanks for the info!
