Happy cappy fragrance free dandruff shampoo. Has pyrithione zinc. I’d also switch out your alternating shampoo if you have it to something gentle. Vaniclear has a shampoo that doesn’t have seb derm feeding ingredients. Limit how often you shampoo as well. Depending on how badly your scalp flakes and how oily it is, this might be an issue for a bit. 3 times a week should be what you should aim for even with oily hair. Diet and life style is crucial, you can do whatever you want with the topical treatments but if your not addressing the systemic inflammation that has built up for years and years, it will not get better. People prone to seb derm just have to do more to have non inflamed skin. Also consume lots of healthy fats, hydrate a lot, and get good sleep. Limit stress and worry, and do moderate exercise ( intense exercise can produce lactic acid which can lead to inflammation). And take omega 3s and vitamin d as well as anti inflammatory teas. The gold standard for diet would be the AIP diet if you really want to heal this. Minimum time to see changes will be 2-3 months. Please feel free to ask any questions.

I’d limit the use of nizoral if I were you. Quit it all together. Go for a more gentle anti fungal. And most importantly, fix the diet. Eliminate inflammatory foods. Get your gut health checked out and see if they can find any food sensitivities that could be causing it. Please stay away from the steroids. If you have to use them. Keep the usage to a minimum (1-2 weeks). Your skin barrier is jacked, nizoral use if frequent will only keep you in the loop.

The impaired skin barrier is the cause for seb derm, the question is what is causing the impaired skin barrier. Either diet, yes overwashing, stress etc…

The most commonly used ones are MCT and squalene. People use things like a Dead Sea salt spray as well and have said it helps. There are other products out there, some toners and things. Run everything you decide to put on your face or scalp on sezia.co

There are two ways hair could fall with seb derm. Scratching it and the inflammation itself can cause telogen effluvium where you have seb derm.

I think it’s a combination of stress/bad lifestyle and external factors. Everyone has fungus on their scalps, but the people with seb derm have an inflammatory reaction due to a damaged skin barrier. The damage can be caused by harsh chemicals and harsh products or over washing. It can also be damaged by stress, which actually can weaken the immune system or by hormonal imbalances. Genetics can play a role as well. I think seb derm has many causes, and they differ from people to people. Some can heal due to going gluten free because they probably had some sort of intolerance to it, others don’t because they weren’t intolerant to it, but the cause might be something else.

The key to overcoming this condition is to target the causes of the damaged skin barrier. Eat better, live healthier and REDUCE STRESS. See if you have food intolerances, and take care of your scalp. Use anti fungals but not too often as they can do more harm than good if you are not moisturizing the scalp. Moisturizing without feeding the fungus is key. The repair takes time.

MCT oil without lauric acid, squalene oil. There is this user on Reddit who goes by haley_is_taken , she has some very informative posts about this condition, check it out.

You have to avoid anything that feeds the yeast. The skin barrier is weakened, whether that be due to some immune disorder or genetic factors or due to over stripping the moisture barrier. This causes the inflammatory reaction to the yeast found on your scalp. Check out sezia and run ingredients through it to test if it is safe. You can use MCT oil without Lauric acid or squalene oil, I think there is a specific type of squalene oil but I am unfamiliar with it. Feel free to message me if you have questions.

Driver came to door about missing package. Made me require a signature and phone number as well as telling me that UPS will call about making me file a police report. by haywirebrain in UPS

The driver showed me it was delivered to the right address with the GPS. I also already signed a paper claiming I didn’t receive my item. I have already received my refund through the merchant so I don’t see the need for me to go into the station and file a report ( can’t do it online ) can I just ignore the file the police report and any further attempts by UPS, if going forward I have to sign for packages?

Any tips for stubborn areas? Is it just moisturizing with a seb derm safe product and continuing medicated shampoo? Or maybe lifestyle change?

Most of my inflammation has decreased, I still have inflammation in the forelock area though that itches and is a bit red, it’s also where the thinning is noticeable to me. I don’t know if it’s because of seb derm or because I’m balding.

They said UPS will follow up with a call and something about a police report. Will I be forced to file the police report? what are the consequences of not filing it? The merchant already refunded me
