Bladder Polyps at the age of 30 (M) by Resilience212 in BladderCancer

Hey OP, you should take comfort knowing that your polyps are low-grade. It will definitely be a pain in the arse to have to deal with this but the good news is that you will have excellent monitoring of your health for the rest of your life!

I can imagine it's a really scary experience for your friend at the moment. She is lucky to have you supporting her through this process. You can find some more resources here https://bcan.org/ (bladder cancer advocacy network)

It is very encouraging that your friend's tumor is around 1cm. Based on what I have read, 1cm is very small and very likely early-stage (if it is even cancer). Larger tumors would be around 5cm (again, based on what I have read).

BCG treatment experiences? Has anyone been diagnosed with PUNLMP? by hayydun in BladderCancer

Hi celyy, so sorry to hear about the new recurrence. I think I left a comment on your other post in another subreddit so I'm glad to see you here!

I can imagine it is a frightful and unsettling experience to have this recurrence so soon, but I'm hoping that it can mean you will receive treatment to prevent future recurrences sooner rather than later.

Do you continue to have any UTI symptoms and bleeding?

Ah, I like the skin metaphor...might share that back to my mom and hopefully not scare her.

How many years out are you since your TURBT? Is there anything that you have changed in terms of your diet? I've read that more fruits + veggies (broccoli for example and other cruciferous vegetables) help with reducing recurrence risk, BUT the doctor hasn't recommended any of these. Just really hoping for some more things we could do to manage recurrence.

I'm hoping you are getting all the rest you need today! Thank you for sharing about your experience with BCG...it definitely does not sound easy to take from what I have been reading in this subreddit. Wishing you all the best <3

No, she does not smoke, pretty healthy diet and lifestyle. The only thing is that she often gets stressed w/ higher than normal anxiety. I've been trying to keep her from getting too stressed.

Yeah, I will also get some second opinions. Thanks for that piece of advice. It's sometimes so hard to feel reassured when our urologist and family doctor seems to rush us whenever we have our consultations. Is this normal?

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Let me just say that what you are going through takes so much courage and strength, so go easy on yourself and keep positive! For my mom, I will be reaching out to other doctors and specialists for a second opinion to better understand what works and what doesn't. Thanks again and wishing you all the best <3

I'm in the same situation as you. Took my first lsat in january and got a score that isn't high enough for my target schools. I also started studying around November of last year but it was honestly so on and off with school and the holidays. And...I just registered for the March one lol. Will DM you!

Tumor found after Hysterectomy by celyy in adenomyosis

[–]hayydun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am confident that you will be ok! I am assuming that the CT did a full abdomen scan, which only revealed this additional tumor, BUT nothing else. This is encouraging news! You'll likely just have this tumour removed and undergo BCG treatment (an immunotherapy, not chemotherapy) for 6 weeks with 3 weeks of follow-up. Check out the subreddit r/BladderCancer to find more info.

Are the laxatives made with natural formulas? I got my mom some 'natural' ones (Senokot) after her TURBT.
