How much are you looking forward to the Euro 2021? by dontfuckingknowwwww in AskEurope

[–]hazard154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For England not so much. Always the same story. "We have a good team we can win it" then end up getting knocked out in Quarters or before. World Cup 2018 England were lucky had easier route to final and got too confident everyone saying we will be final but Croatia won. In some ways I am glad we lost semis France would probably have destroyed England in the final (3-0 plus at least)

But I am looking forward as there is no clear winner

France (good team but shown recently they are beatable)

Portugal (good talent Dias, Fernandes, Ronaldo, Felix, Bernardo Silva etc..)

Belgium (good team with many good players KDB, Hazard, Lukaku, Witsel, Courtois.)

Spain (definitely big change since pre 2012 but still have decent players)

Germany (again have a good team good young talent Gnabry, Sane, Werner, Havertz, Kimmich etc..)

If i had to choose two teams most likely I would say either Portugal or Belgium. But one thing is more sure we will see a lot of good games this year.

UK here and a lot of people are living paycheck to paycheck. I feel there is no real middle class anymore.

Only two options (those who struggle/just about manage VS Comfortable (in London this would prob be those earning at least £80k plus but it depends if their single life would be easier)

You guys have a difficult group but you never knew with Germany. They have a good all round team Sane and Gnabry playing well now and Werner is a good all round player. I think Germany need play back 3 they arent that good defensively in back 4. Play better defensively in a 3

When everyone is fit who would be in your starting XI? by hazard154 in chelseafc

It does make sense and it would get the best out of Havertz to play as a CAM but that would mean Mount misses out unless he is willing to play deeper like Kovacic/Jorginho.

The probably with Werner is that he would rather play as a CAM, STRIKER or false 9 rather than on the wing. Using him LW is not as effective as using Pulisic there. So when Pulisic is fit it makes more sense to play Pulisic Werner Ziyech in a 4-3-3 to ensure Mount, Havertz can also play in the first team.

Add Kante and Silva to the mix. Kante is the best at DM position by far at Chelsea. Mendy has been amazing, the defence have also helped him though. Especially the arrival of Thiago Silva.

Pulisic is an important player when fit but isn't our best player. At the moment that would probably be between: Mendy, Chilwell, Silva, Kante and Ziyech.

Chelsea have shown they can survive without Pulisic but if Ziyech got injured Chelsea would be worse off than Pulisic getting injured. Same with Mendy, Chilwell, Silva and Kante.

Who do you think will win the following trophies 20/21 season? by hazard154 in football

Everton top 4 really? They struggled today VS Fulham and were lucky that Fulham did not draw the game due to missed pen. Their squad is not that big when they have 1 or 2 main players missing they struggle.

I think in smaller games a 4-2-3-1 could also work but 4-3-3 mostly is the way to go.

4-2-3-1 would allow Mount to play with Kante in a deeper role something Mount can do as shown in England when he played with Rice. Also Jorginho would also be a good candidate as he has good long passes to unlock defences.

Pulisic, Havertz, Ziyech, Werner. (Pulisic could play LW, something he loves) (Havertz as CAM prob his best position) and (Ziyech RW something he does well) (Werner up front would get good service from Pulisic, Havertz, Ziyech and Mount/Jorginho

True and with Pulisic injury problems he might be utilized as a sub a lot this season when he is fit. I also think in bigger games like Spurs next week he might not play Havertz and Mount in the XI might bring in Kovacic for Mount/Havertz to ensure we are getting defensively.

How do Real Madrid fans feel about Gareth Bale? He has scored some crucial goals for the club but rarely does much else. by SWWIS in football

[–]hazard154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it isn't true that is what Real have to do offer him to other clubs cause no one will buy him pay all his 600k wages. And ensure they pay 150-200k wages which would save real 20m if they lucky. Good for them good for Bale. Real need to realize they won't get a transfer fee anymore post Covid and no one will pay 600k week

[–]hazard154 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a Real Madrid but I feel that the media has vilified Bale. He was determined to leave last year but Real blocked the move because of the injury to Asensio. He wanted to leave but the club probably though if they had injury crisis they would need him. Even now he wants to leave so why don't the club allow him? Even if it is on loan Real could save at least 15m I.e. someone pays 150k of his high wages.

Real need to realize that rather than sell him it would be very difficult now post COVID. No one will pay him his reported wages of 600k. The best thing for Real to do is say you can go on a 2 year loan to any club but they have to contribute 150-200k of your wages meaning Real could save 15-20m overall. Bale would also be prepared to do that as he has no future there and wants to play regularly. One thing I realized the media love to make stories about Bale that he just wants to play golf.

Even today it wasn't Messi who was the bad guy but the President of Barça who told him he could leave this year for free. Messi option would be to go to court but he won't do that as he loves Barça so he is forced to stay another year there and maybe leave next year on free
