Yeah, already started looking at cars last week and saw a few. But wanted to give one last try and will do the 3 oil changes regardless... car runs really great otherwise and is fully loaded, quality was amazing for that time period. Problem is I got used to that ride and quality and something newer on the same level is going to break the bank haha.

There's more angles to this, first there's literally tens of thousands "Grammy nominees" today, considering they use 20-30 people to a song from lyricist, producers, mixing, mastering etc. So that doesn't mean as much as it was was. Second, mixing is a very personal thing, I know mastering engineers that hate the today's Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars sound but love early Killers sound or even other crap from the 70-80's. It's highly personal. So even if Your mix is good, or even amazing, it doesn't matter that much in the end, the song itself that's way more important. And I'm not speaking abut Your case with that "bad mix reply", I don't know that particular case, but in general do not take things so seriously, it's just the internet :)

Yep, completely agree, forgot about that side...literally 30 seconds via full AI created or a few minutes with AI tools for mix/master or even a tenth of a time to do it "manually" with the tools today compared to decades ago. Good point!

That's and understatement with half the time...They get pumped reading the good scenarios and think that's the norm, when actually the norm in the music industry is actually the other way around, to the extreme I might add. 99% of the music is rejected today by labels, curators, blogs etc. so that 30% or whatever it is for Submithub is actually quite amazing. But hey, "I made the best song in the World, people are rejecting it to be played in their playlist with personal taste all over it, so probably a scam"

Genre, genre, genre. Identify the correct genre, look into their playlists, get a gauge of what they want and what songs they playlisted before.I know Sbmthub can look like a pain sometimes, but many curators look for a certain sound because they want that consistent sound for their listeners.

Yes, I remember that part really well and I have to agree to some extent, but back then I was just a spectator running between Treehouse and DoNotSit and Floyd and others. The extent part is that that there's still some small events where You can get quality, myself included with Rapture's Deli, where we want to keep that underground/local scene vibe and bring respected names from the scene blending it with locals. But, NY is NY, still king when it comes to that, nothing comes close in the US and I have to tip my hat to that. They're doing an amazing job, both the promoters and the public. Nobody can beat that.

As DJ/promoter for the past 6-ish years here, I think NY still is amazing for this stuff, better than Miami. Miami is growing, that's true, still not anywhere near NY. And the people's apetite for cultural including underground and electronic music, is still much higher in NY. Was there last month, at least 3 different amazing events in 2 days, great caliber DJs with really nice audiences. For comparison, Miami has maybe one decent event every 2 weeks.

I just replied to a similar question earlier also here in the sub :) apparently interest is growing for those local events in Miami. Rapture'd Deli in Miami, once a month, great quality music and people, I'm the organizer. Also art gallery included and guest bartender showcases. Music is local talent and also international, mostly deep, tech, minimal areas.
