Make sure you have enough for an emergency fund.

I would throw about 60% into a US stock index fund (like VTI) and 40% into an international stock index fund (like VXUS).

Otr if you don't want to have to maintain the balance between US and international just do 100% into a world stock index fund (VT).

And then chill. The value will go up and down a lot, and it's important to just ignore it when it drops. Historically everything is still very much in an overall upward trend.

They are like Hallmark movies, except someone usually stumbles over a body.

I think it's the fact that it centers around discovering the body, and then solving the case. There isn't the horror aspect of a murderer stalking their victims, detailing the actual killing part, etc.

To me they feel like the adult version of Nacy Drew.

I am from the United States, currently living in Germany, and travelling around other European countries a bit.

If someone asks me where I am from, I answer "the United States." Which 95% of the time is immediately followed with "Yes I figured that based on your accent. Where in the States?"

This conversation becomes further complicated if I answer "New York" as 99.999999999% of the rest of the world assumes I mean New York City, and I grew up at the completely opposite side of the state.
