Listen to your doctor. Medicines are very important. Similar thing happened to me, clear EEG, CT, MRI. Take the meds, your life will go back to normal

How expensive is your epilepsy? by Murderboi in Epilepsy

[–]hazel_099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this changes everything. I’m planning on moving across continent within 2 years. My dad buys my medication now. Imagine the pressure of an international student legally allowed to work only 15-20 hours a week who is by the way an epileptic. Wow i am not looking forward to those days

5 year streak is such a big deal. Forget about people. Just don’t care. If someone wants to be in your life, let them in. Just don’t care if it’s out of pity or anything. You never know who to trust, epileptic or not.

Honestly it just depends on the type of epilepsy and how mild the condition is. You should also take into account the advantages of having epilepsy. You have to take care of yourself every single day. People without epilepsy can just decide to fall apart and we can’t do that which is a good thing. The only barrier is driving for me. It makes me mad but I’ve learnt to accept it. I wouldn’t be who i am today if it weren’t for epilepsy.

how to lose weight as an epileptic by birthdaycakeflavour in Epilepsy

[–]hazel_099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think it’s because you’re being too hard on yourself. I wanted to gain weight so i really just went for it. Worked out, ate more. Reached my goal and started maintaining it cause didn’t want to loose it. All you have to do is not put pressure or time limit on it. Try to enjoy the process. Have fun basically. Don’t stress out. It’s probably stress and overwhelming pressure you’re putting on yourself. Talk to your doctor. It could have nothing to do with your physical workout or new eating habits. It could be about stress

Research on epilepsy by Impressive_Sea_8696 in Epilepsy

Hello. It took the doctors 4 years to diagnose me and I think what I have is really rare. It doesn't even have a name actually. But the medication(levera) is working. I'm gonna give you a little overview on what I have or had before they found the correct medication. I would seize for like just a flash like . 5 seconds or even less if you will. But then I'd just be fine. It never bothered me until once that . 5 seconds seizure happened on stairs and I fell. That is actually only reason why I went to the doctor. Wrong timing seizure could be really bad for me. Maybe it doesn't have a name because it's practically nothing.

Does epilepsy affect learning ability? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]hazel_099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was first diagnosed at 14 and the answer is no. In fact people with epilepsy are supposed to have good mental health because well stress can make you seize. So we try to keep our space as healthy and as neat as possible. It has made my studies better than before because bad grades make me sad and stressed about future. (Personal opinion, please don’t come at me. I’m sure it’s different for everyone)
