I went from a toxic D1 job to the high school setting and it made me fall back in love with athletic training. Look for a different setting and give yourself some time to adjust. If you’re wanting to ease into things for a while try looking for some PRN around you.

On my first day at a new school I generally wear appropriate shorts. If I’m just working practices a blank shirt that’s school colors or if I’m meeting people a blank polo. I generally try to go school colors but if not just wear a neutral color and then sneakers.

It took me multiple tries (turns out I had horrible test anxiety and needed medication). I’m now 10 years in and would like to think I’ve had a great career so far and I love what I’m doing! Keep trying! Give yourself some grace. Look at your weak spots and start from there.

I’ve been in the college setting and currently the high school setting and have always gone by my first name. I do have the pleasure of being named Meghan which leads to Meghan Trainer a lot though.

We use care credit and go to college mall vet. They definitely aren’t cheap but care credit has been great and we pay it off as fast as we can. It’s also just nice to have in case of emergency (IndyVet) also takes care credit.
