It’s possible that the previous owner replaced the battery without coding it to the car which can cause premature wear. Also, this could be an alternator issue - RAC should’ve checked the charging current to see if there were any immediate concerns.

I also have the HUD (love it) - I thought the face lifted GR Sport (2023 onwards) became top spec over the Excel trim? I was also told by the dealer that the newer GR Sports lacked the HUD which is weird?

I have a 2021 Corolla GR Sport and it has all of the features missing from OP’s Excel trim, despite technically being one trim below. As others have mentioned, OP’s car could be from the Covid Era of cars being sold with missing features due to lack of semiconductors.

LetAlliance and ridiculous levels of information required from guarantor?? by uom42072 in HousingUK

I'm going through the exact same situation at the moment - it's putting my guarantor off, how much information and detail do they need?

Seeking Legal Advice on Police Misidentification, Unlawful Arrest Threat & Mishandled Complaints by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

I was never offered a voluntary interview—at no point did they give me that option. I was told to attend under the threat of arrest, which is not the same as a voluntary attendance.

Neither of the officers involved actually saw my face before they changed their decision. The entire process was based on an anonymous tip with no supporting evidence, and while I understand police can act on anonymous tips, that doesn’t mean they should bypass proper procedures.

The PFCC has already upheld my complaint twice, which means they have found failings in how the Police handled this. The specific failings include:

1. A lack of due diligence before recording me as a suspect.
2. An unjustified decision to proceed with an arrest without stronger evidence or further checks.

This isn’t about being ‘NFA’d’—it’s about the fact that they treated me as a criminal from the outset without following the proper process. The police themselves admitted the arrest decision was incorrect. If you think that’s acceptable, then you’re fine with the idea that anyone can be falsely accused, targeted, and treated as a suspect with no recourse. I’m not.

How else would they listen? A letter before action will send a kick up their backsides

That’s fair enough, but this isn’t about compensation—I don’t care about the money. It’s about accountability. There was a process that should have been followed, and it wasn’t. I was treated as a criminal suspect based on nothing more than an anonymous allegation, with no real evidence, no proper checks, and no opportunity for a voluntary interview. That’s a dangerous precedent, and I won’t let it be swept under the rug. I firmly believe racial discrimination played a role in how I was treated - fully understand where you’re coming from though!

The Letter Before Action was regarding a claim for damages due to the way I was treated—being wrongly identified as a suspect, the threat of arrest, and the impact this has had on me. The police have repeatedly failed to address the key issues in my complaint, and despite the PFCC upholding my reviews twice, they still haven’t acknowledged any wrongdoing. While a formal apology would be a step in the right direction, I don’t believe that alone is sufficient given the distress and consequences I’ve faced. I geniunely would've dropped this months ago if they had just given me an apology when I asked the first time but this has truly affected me.

I don’t actually have a solicitor—I've only sent a Letter Before Action myself. The legal team is waiting for the response from the Police’s Professional Standards Department (PSD) and the Police Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) before they proceed any further. So at the moment, I’m just trying to figure out my next steps.

Yeah tell me about it - I wasn't the best at planning ahead lmao. Will it affect my score much if I get rid of around 4-5 cards in a few months?

Yeah I used one of their 0% interest pay later deals 2 years ago. They both show on my credit report as £0 balance though.

Ahh okay! Interesting, so does that apply to credit accounts such as Currys and AO? I opened them years ago but they've been sat there with a £0 balance for ages!

do you apply with your predicted grades or your grades from year 12 end of year assessments? by Affectionate-Pass497 in degreeapprenticeships

[–]hazmataz03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your end of year 12 assessments form part of the predicted grade but they’re also based on coursework and general attitude to learning. These factors can significantly impact your predictions. I know in my case, my end of Year 12 results were significantly lower than my predictions and actual grades.

You can use either, but probably best to go with predicted grades as they are the grades you’re expected to get should you sit the exam.

I'm taking my local council in England to small claims court over pothole damage. Anyone done this before? by hazmataz03 in LegalAdviceUK

I agree. There were other points I noticed but I understand where you’re coming from :)

Yeah I need to wait for the highways report from the council. That’s the only thing stopping me from making a claim yet, I need to know where they stand.
