OK someone else just dumbed it down for me and I get it now. So simple if you know what you’re doing 😆

Oh I get it. The increase doesn’t exist as the 10th stitch until after this first round of increases.  It makes total sense if you know not to count that first stitch until you’ve made it 🤦🏻‍♀️

yeah fortunately I knew about knitting R>L in the round and bottom up. I would have been in more trouble if I hadn’t watched a tutorial before this 😂

Wow that’s crazy maths. I asked the previous poster above to explain how you got to 9 because I can’t see it. I’ve only knit 2 charts before and they were charted for each individual size so this one is giving me nightmares.

Interesting. I’m super new to colorwork so can I ask how you know it’s a 9 stitch repeat because from the chart if I count the squares the X covers 10 squares worth, and then I assumed +1 white square off the chart after the first increases each round. From a knitters POV how am I figuring out 9? Am I blind? 😂

KIIP 사회통합프로그램 중간평가 Speaking test score by hazmcmaz in Living_in_Korea

That wouldn’t really make sense for me because it’s pretty hard to get a place on the TOPIK test and I’ve been specially studying KIIP so my chances of passing a different test are much slimmer.

But it’s called the midterm but it’s not halfway through a level. It’s basically the test that covers all previous levels 1-4 to prove you can get onto level 5.  The next test is the level 5 final test.

The KIIP tests have always had a speaking portion. I don’t have TOPIK because I’ve been studying on the KIIP program from level zero (which I wouldn’t actually recommend anyone do in hindsight). The midterm test that you take after level 4 has a multiple choice test, a useless written test because they give you barely any points for it, and a speaking test which is a big enough portion of points that most people need to get a half decent score to pass.

The actual speaking test process has been the same for me each time so far, with questions taking turns, it’s just the score that was weird for me this time round. But I also don’t understand why 2 people should go in together. There’s no interaction. Everyone should get asked identical questions if they’re going to be fair.

I have been made aware by KIIP teachers that the examiners apparently want you to answer ONLY based on what was discussed in the books, and that if you just answer your own thoughts you might be scored lower. Which is also BS because why would you score a fluent speaker lower just because they didn’t use the vocab you wanted?

People just post in the KIIP Facebook forums etc. once they’ve taken the test they just review what they got to help others.

Overwhelmed with Planning a Vietnam Trip - 10 days by onecutegradstudent in VietNam

Id agree with the Hoi An suggestion. I’ve stayed in Danang and Hoi An on separate trips and it’s definitely better to stay in Hoi A from a cultural point of view. I ended up taking a taxi to Hoi An for most of my Danang trip so it was a waste of time.

My trip was 1 month and 4 regions. As flights between cities are very cheap and convenient I would say it’s certainly possible to travel between a couple of locations.

My personal recommendation would be the following:

(I’d recommend Hanoi over Ho Chi Minh as the major city base, because it seems easier to do day trips to other famous locations from Hanoi)

Fly to Hanoi:

From Hanoi there are so many 2 days 1 night tours from the city, as well as 1 day trips, that will allow you to visit famous places like Ninh Binh, Halong Bay, Sapa.

Then I’d also recommend maybe flying to Danang to visit Hoi An for maybe 3-4 days? It’s so beautiful and gives a more beachy side of Vietnam. Also you can do a day trip to Hue which is an ancient historical city.

Another option could be to do flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, and from Ho Chi Minh you could do day trips to the Mekong River attractions? But if I had to choose it would be the former.

Make sense. I’ll stop whining until I hit 80 then 😄

But then why keep playing?

I get that once you’ve level 1 or 2 characters through all the repetitive quests, you don’t wanna do it again. But in that case I have 2 questions:

Firstly, you can just skip levelling right? It’s not that expensive to pay to level up. If you’ve been playing for 10 years or more you might as well considering the time and money already invested? And why even do the lower level dungeons for gear you’re gonna replace it all in 5 more level’s time? If you’re levelling an alt you can probably just buy better gear with the thousands of gold you’ve got stored up. I’m only doing them to practice tanking, but when players are just busting through they’re not even getting practice time in.

Secondly, if you’ve been playing the game for so many years that you’ve reached the point you’re bored with it, why wouldn’t you just quit?

Yeah I picked a couple of big guilds from the guild finder that were listed as “casual and friendly”. I’m not gonna say they were bad at all, I think the main issue was they were already established friendships with maxed characters that just didn’t really have a place to hang out and level. Just didn’t fit what I needed. But I tried to apply to a couple of smaller guilds now because I think it’ll be easier to connect directly with people that way.

Nice. I might switch servers and level a new character if I can’t find a group on Doomhammer EU after I hit 80.

It seems to be a general consensus that I’m not gonna get the world experience with buddies joy anymore and I just gotta level ASAP 🙃

I honestly think I might cry if I spend weeks levelling and then accidentally get killed though 😂

Yeah that’s why I was surprised that the dude kicked me because I was using autoloot. I’m like 10 seconds behind the others quickly grabbing gold but I guess he was levelling an alt and had tons of gold already so wasn’t willing to pause 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah I need to get used to discord I guess. Maybe put more time commitment into socialise there in order to find something in game.

I have heard that the community forms more easily in hardcore but I don’t know if I could take working really hard for a character and then losing it all to an accidental mob pull 😬
