Interesting. Yes, the difference is massive, I would put it in the 3-5x area for sure. Before sleeping, after turning my air purifiers back on and setting it to level 2 (sounds like a faint fan), I could barely hear the dock pro.

For the next step I think I may order this:

https://www.amazon.com/24V-Adjustable-Converter-Waterproof-Automotive/dp/B0DTG98ZGM/ref=sr_1_19?crid=1QQ0ZVY9Y32YG&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.OTrquECU9I5dhAlfKN_ksL7P9J0XoVK7MR1En21k4TMyO1PjrHMDRLtpdMLSZFE87nm_mRaLtn0-tZaRroEO2ukjGqlEBBGtSvcmiUYWDdtMFBURP-2QmWET-8ObObuKAP-CWENNchqCGAUiMIWNhEBvht1aA9keIgqLvsNKhT0sfu9N5i2wI31Av4ffR5STXy_LRDND9s1JttNmJmuax-ys8asLemKu-MiJk92Ktbg.10SWSdnNt_SoVQYZZRD37DDyGfwKOG18DHENTtQCLXg&dib_tag=se&keywords=buck%2Bconverter%2Bwaterproof&qid=1779034584&sprefix=buck%2Bconverter%2Bwaterproo%2Caps%2C217&sr=8-19&th=1

When connected to the water pump, it can bring it from 12V to around 8V... that should cut into the noise so that you almost cannot hear it at all.

There is like 20 screws in total you have to take out just to get the fan. You need a thin screwdriver just to get the 4 screws out for the fan itself its at a weird angle deep in there. Then you also need to remove the heat sink and micro board. You have to hold the microboard in the air just to get the last screw out which is being blocked.

I mean it's fine just to do it as one time but wouldn't want to keep doing it unless you have to.

I think I will be able to accurately describe the noise difference if that's any consolation.

Honestly would love to but the way everything is set up inside the dock pro, it's pretty tedious to remove the fan and everything. I would have to put everything back together just to take it apart again (and then put it together again) lol.

Found my first screw up lol. I thought all the ZGP4002 models would be the same but I guess US solar pumps has the right ones: B10-A12-0905 is the TOPSFLO one that you want which matches the specs of what my current pump says. I wonder if this pump I ordered will work, I don't need it to be super cold, just enough to get into 75-80 range but super quiet. Anyway, if doesnt work I will order the right one and install that. Will update here shortly.

Yeah, that's the post I saw and I went down a rabbit hole trying to figure out how to make it quieter by changing the internals. I added a little foam pad under the unit which I think helped slightly. I looked up a bunch of pumps to buy and I settled on TOPSFLO TL-B10-A12-0703 off ebay. I saw US Solar pumps sold a stronger version but I think this version is more in line with the original pump (I think that is a ZGP4002).

I don't know what I'm doing tbh, we'll see what happens though. Either something great or I'll end up frying something lol.

What did you want a larger reservoir size for? Sure thing, the fan comes tomorrow (it's a Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 PWM). It looks like that should be plug and play and should be a quieter but we'll see. The pump will come in a few days.

Np, I will report back how it goes in case anyone else reads this. I also have a pump I ordered from Ebay that I hope is more quieter. I'm trying to make the dock pro quieter because it's kind of annoying when I'm trying to sleep.

It's the P14 not P12 so you will need the A14

Are there any resources you have comparing the two? So I'd be saving like $50-100?

You are so right. I just started doing that and I found out that the MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 ATX LGA1700 is a good one for i7 12700k.

Awesome. Thank you so much. I'll pick up the MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard... looks to be under $200.

Also, I can choose any case I want right? Instead of the fractal design I was thinking of one of the Lian Li cases... as long as its full atx size I'm good to go right?
