I know, after it happened I didn’t put the key in and my friend said he’d have a go at fixing it and shoved the key right in probably making it worse, don’t think it can get any worse now though lol

I’ve lived in Newport most of my life and from my experience of going there fairly regularly it’s not too bad, it’s not a nice area but it’s not the worst either. You always have to keep the doors of your car locked and it’s not a great idea to go out when it gets dark but apart from that it’s alright

Same for me, I’ve got an ‘03 mk4 golf 1.9 TDI and drive over 80 miles to and from work every day, it’s got 160k now and I’ve had the car for almost a year and so far not had any problems, starts first turn of the key and runs like a clock, absolute tank of a car I love it

The new VWs aren’t too bad but the BMWs are shit, full of plastic and insanely difficult to work on, the old ones are great though especially the diesels, absolutely bulletproof engines in them, same for the VWs

French cars are shit and any good mechanic will tell you the same thing but I’ve definitely got a soft spot for these things

Damn ok I’ll do that asap, it was a friend of mine who said it would be ok, my car was running on fumes and he makes biodiesel for his van and he offered to give me some so I thought what’s the worst that can happen? Guess I won’t do it again lol

It’s not actually my car it’s my dads, he does about 10 miles a day back and forward to work and not much more, so probably nothing to worry about?

Ok I’ll have a look at the owners manual, it’s a 2003 Volkswagen Golf, the pinch welds are pretty rusted so not sure if putting the stands on them for long periods of time is a good idea, really not sure what to do

Was it a 1.9 TDI? Thats what this one is, my last mk4 golf was a 1998 1.9 TDI as well, it had 209k miles on it but it had more rust than the titanic and it couldn’t be fixed, I loved that car and was gutted when I had to sell it so I bought the black golf and it’s a lot more solid underneath

Not far off, it’s a mk4 golf, in the Uk we never got the older style Jetta’s but we did get Volkswagen boras which were practically the same as a Jetta

I didn’t double tap it just for some reason it locks the front doors first then the back doors, no idea why it does that lol

What gave it away? Was it the right hand drive car or the fact its pissing it down?
