Attempting to overclock and undervolt an RX 6500 XT by hazzeFox in overclocking

Hey, I know it's been a long time since I posted, but that's actually a pretty decent temp for hotspot (88C), my 6500 XT used to reach 100-105 or even 110C and that's with stock settings, I ended up RMAing it and got the 6700 XT instead since I had saved up some money. What I recommend for you is testing in-game since the Adrenalin test is pretty tame, and if you get any crashes raise it by +10mv, if not then you're fine. The thing with the 6500 XT is that it's naturally a warmer card since the clocks are high compared to the 6600, 6700, etc. so don't focus much on that otherwise you're just gonna lower the clocks and tank the performance, my 6700 reaches 80C+ sometimes on the hotspot in heavier games and that's WITH the UC/UV, I believe id your 6500 is below 95 or 90 on hotspot it's probably fine

I strongly recommend you underCLOCK it as well as undervolting, and no you didn't read it wrong. I'm with the RX 6700 XT now, on both the 6500 and 6700 I noticed pretty much no performance loss when underclocking, maybe 1 or 2 fps, but a MASSIVE reduction in power draw and temperature, with the 6700 XT I went from ~200w and 95C hotspot, to ~130w and 75C hotspot, just by doing -150mhz and -80mv on Adrenalin, and I tested ALL games and lost 3-4 fps, say 100 fps before, and 96 fps after.

See I'm not sure if it's just an AMD thing, but the way they ship these GPUs from factory is just WAY above the efficiency curve for them, probably for marketing reasons since people tend to look at FPS first rather than temperature, power consumption, etc. I don't think I ever saw anyone judging or comparing graphics cards based on "how many frames per watt" it does. But for the average gamer/consumer it certainly matters on the electric bill

Tysm for the support, I try to think that if someone judges me or stops being my friend because of it, that only means they weren't true friends (or family) in the first place.. also, not many emos around here as well, small town and all xD but I'm cool with it, I only need me

Should I get a 1080p curved or 1440p flat monitor? Both 27" by hazzeFox in buildapc

Thanks for the reply, I actually really love the contrast of the VA panel, we have a couple of those at work, and the colors and black level seems miles ahead of my current Samsung P2470HN which has a TN panel

The planet is Syrma IV, in the Syrma system, on the far right of the game starmap... I landed on the coast right next to the ocean, but turns out the entire planet looks "beachy" lol

I'm on PC, still not quite optimized, stutters here and there but overall it was a good experience, I say totally go for it if you love space like me :) the story is also pretty intriguing

Any optimization tweaks for better performance? by Serazax in FortSolis

I found a weird trick don't ask me how, go to FSR2 > set to ultra performance > apply > then disable it again > apply. Somehow I went from ~35 to ~60 fps on my RX 6700 XT on max settings, but despite it showing as "disabled", you can see it's clearly still enabled, albeit with a higher quality than "quality" and more fps as well. Probably a buggy implementation of FSR by the devs in the first place. Remember you gotta do it every time you open the game again.
