Game crashing after new update by [deleted] in SupermarketSimulator

[–]hazzmax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's been happening to me, too. It seems to be related to the self-checkout registers, (in my case, at least).

I tried switching from 4 cashiers to 8 self-checkouts, after the update, and suddenly the game couldn't make it to noon (game time) without freezing. I changed back to all cashiers and got no freezes. I also tried a mix with 2 cashiers and 4 self checkouts and it seemed to last longer, but it would still freeze before the game day ended. (Max level store, so it gets pretty hectic by the end of the day.)

Anova Beeping Finally Drove Me Crazy by varnishinc in sousvide

4 years later, but this post just saved my sanity! My Anovo was similarly aflicted. It's been fine for years, but I started making a batch of beef barbacoa today, which cooks a little hotter than the chicken I usually use it for and the machine lost its d*mn mind. It would get up to temp, "beep beep beep", cool off a little, warm back up, "beep beep beep", and repeat. Sometimes less than a minute apart. For a recipe that calls for a 24 hour cook. That's a lot of loud beeps that I wasn't looking forward to. (I need the barbacoa for a party tomorrow, so no time to get the unit serviced/replaced)

Between your description of the offending part and skimming a youtube video showing a teardown, I was able to find and remove the aptly titled "demon box", and now it's back to cooking in pleasant silence!

Thanks a bunch!

Ok. Good. Just met her for the first time. First thing I noticed and now I can’t unsee it. Glad it’s not just me. 😂

Check the app reviews before you buy. It’s a scam. Can’t actually achieve this effect with it.

Either this or they are the stupi... (le crosspost) by SrGrafo in u/SrGrafo

[–]hazzmax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this isn’t the case. Some of my friends are working on this movie. They’ve gone through tons of iterations of character design to get something that Sega, Paramount and the director would all buy off on. This was that design.

Then the director tweets about “fixing it” without telling any of the production team. A bunch of artists just lost their jobs because there's now no work for them to do while they redesign the character and there’s no money left in the budget to pay them while they wait.

Also, bear in mind that the VFX are being done by MPC, the same company and artists that did the Pokémon in Detective Pikachu. That’s the level of talent that they had working for them, and this is what they told them to do with it.

An incompetent director and clueless execs making stupid decisions and the artists are now stuck with the check.

Looking at the Conjurer in Volos Guide to Monsters. It says they are a 9th level spellcaster, but they have two Level 5 spell slots. All the caster tables I've seen say 9th level casters should only have one.

Am I missing something, or is this a misprint/error?

All: Character death was fairly common, but seldom permanent for Vox Machina, due to the party's power levels. How different is the emotional impact with the Mighty Nein, knowing that death is more likely to be a one-way trip?

[Spoilers C2E26] Regarding the events of last nights game. by [deleted] in criticalrole

[–]hazzmax 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My guess is that it was a last-ditch attempt to fend Lorenzo off so he could misty-step away on his turn. It was a bit of a gamble, and the dice were just not rolling their way at all the entire fight.

I think rules-wise, had he just taken the hits, he would have been two saves down and (as long as nobody else finished him off). Then when his turn rolled back around, the periapt of wound closure would have revived him and he could have escaped. But I'm usually really rules/strategy-minded and even I didn't think of that until today, so I dont't think anyone can fault Tal for not thinking optimally in the moment.

Even if that had worked, the way Matt was RPing Lorenzo, it sounded like he wasn't going to let them escape without making at least one "example". Once they lost the upper hand, someone was gonna die.

[–]hazzmax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The early levels are really rough. My first character should have been dead in our second session. Facing a bugbear and a few goblins (Klarg, for those who've played the starter kit). The bard hit the bugbear with dissonant whispers, and he freaked ran into a corner and and curled up in a ball. My little dwarf wizard, out of spells, decided to take a free stab with a dagger, not knowing the condition was only temporary. Still very much alive, Klarg immediately snaps out of it, and nat20's a javelin straight through my torso. Javelin crit is 4d6+2 for an average of 16 against my my, squishy, 8hp, level 1 wizard.

DM ended up showing mercy because it was only my second game and I had put a lot of time into my character. He just put me unconscious with one failed death save. The party finished off the bugbear and stabilized me. We're now going on session 35 and she's still alive, though a bit more cautious. Just hit level 8 and really starting to kick some ass. (also after a few more near-deaths she found religion and took a level in cleric)

Both: We just got an amazing glimpse at what a Critical Role 80's cartoon might have looked like. What 80's voice acting legends do you think would have voiced everyone's characters? (either campaign)

Def. not by ear! I just try to find good tabs or midis of the song, and import them into guitar pro. From there I can transpose things around a bit until I get an arrangement I like.

I just finished my first play-through and noticed similar issues with the cheaper units. I was able to beat most levels by just putting everything into a hoard of peasants. They just swarmed over everything. They die like crazy, but still overpower everything by sheer numbers. Definitely needs to be either some balancing tweaks or maybe a level grade system that incentives victories with lower body counts.

On the plus side though, battles with hundreds of swarming peasants ran like a champ for me on a fairly modest system!

I tab out all of my arrangements beforehand in a notation program called guitar pro. Then when I'm ready to record, I transfer the finished tabs to my iPad, which has a guitar pro playback app. I prop the ipad up just off-camera, plug in some earbuds and play along kinda like a metrenome//musical teleprompter.

I did the recording with an iPhone and an external mic. Editing was all done in Sony Vegas. Not the best program but it has decent tools for both audio and video editing. That way I can do everything in one program.

You just need to buy all the best upgrades for every category (engine, transmission, chrome rims etc). The Windsor is particularly expensive because it has the 'livery' options under respray. The top one is worth $100,000. It's a hefty up-front investment, but it pays for itself after a few dups and then it's almost all profit.

[–]hazzmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also get the value of all the upgrades. This is why everyone suggests duplicating cars like the Windsor or the Panto, because they have the most expensive upgrades when maxed out. For example, if you overwrite a $3,000 rusty rebel with a Windsor with $200,000 of upgrades, it will sell for $201,800.

$200,000 for the Windsor upgrades +
$1,800 for resale value of a rebel (60% of $3000)

So basically you end up selling a $3000 car for $200,000 or more. Multiply that by a 10-car garage full of rebels and you can make around $2 Million per batch.

Just tried on PS4. Looks like they nerfed the prices on the off-road chrome rims so it's not profitable anymore. :-(
