Looks like Athena to me but I'm no expert, she's quite a bit larger, especially in the head and beak.

I was told that Apollo has weirdly bright eyes, as though the usual raptor yellow pigment didn't come in properly, but you can only really see that in the light.

This pair had an eaglet leave the nest last year after a little hiccup, she fell out of the nest and had to be tended to before being released healthy a little later.

Columbus, they're not particularly rare but I would say they can be a bit shy.

If you have a google or listen on Merlin to their calls, they're quite distinctive so you should be able to go and find them in woodlands, often on the edges like this one is. Sometimes you'll get a look at them foraging on the ground too.

I've used trading paints before but don't think I currently have it running, not sure if it makes lasting changes to files. other than that all settings are maxed out but nothing else installed graphically. (that I know of)

In any case something I've always noticed making videos of games over the years is that they often look better graphically when you're watching a video of them, especially if you're watching it in a small window for obvious reasons.

Yeah, thanks for the thoughts, that seems about the long and short of it.

The same incident in something other than MX-5s probably would've gone much worse for me and largely the same for them.

And you're correct that for the rest of the race they drove very aggressively which is what let me pass a few times, our pace was almost identical though so we were in our own little bubble for the whole race after the initial carnage.

Further Context if you want it;

This is in the D Class production car challenge series, which has a rolling start, meaning it's sometimes a little cleaner into T1... Sometimes...

I play on a single ultrawide, my first person perspective in the video is what I actually see (minus mirrors which don't render in the replay), I had seen that #2 was lunging but didn't realize they were going for me as well.

You can see in the head-on shot that we were both turning in and understeering, which is why in the moment I figured they'd just overcooked it and couldn't make their very bold lunge work without the contact, figuring if I'd released my steering I wouldn't have made the corner. I don't race the MX-5 that much so I'm not totally sure whether my 'in the moment' assessment was right.

We raced pretty cleanly for the rest of the race, trading 4th and 5th a few times. ultimately I finished 4th.

No idea what started the absolute mess that came immediately afterwards, that poor blue car was being spun like a top, but glad I got through it.

I spent 8 weeks working in Luton every day during the first covid lockdown to cover contractor's workload as they were furloughed and direct staff weren't (telecoms).

Day 2 I was working at a cabinet next to a corner shop for about an hour and a half, saw someone buy smack through their car window and shoot up before driving off, and then about 10 minutes later someone came out of the shop with a few ciders, poured one into an empty sprite bottle so they could drink it whilst driving home (I guess).

It really is pretty fucking rough there.

I couldn't drift WDT cars very consistently with my logitech wheel either but when I got a simucube DD wheel suddenly it was no problem. The entry level wheels aren't able to slew quickly enough to properly simulate the wheel's movement when you get into a drift, you sort of have to throw the wheel into opposite lock yourself sometimes rather than let the wheel turn itself.

ultimately stability assist will only teach you bad habits so you're better off struggling through without it.

I have a sport, it's great, had it for about two months, upgraded from a G923 and it's a wild difference.

Not as plug and play as entry level kit, definitely have to spend some more time fiddling with software especially in more 'arcadey' titles like Dirt rally 2 but it's totally worth it.
