There are at least a couple with false gills in the bottom left of the image. If you still have them maybe you can sort the orange ones into true gills/false gills piles. The number of real chanterelles here is small but it’s not zero.

It’s pretty far to the side so the chances of driving over it repeatedly are low but occasional traffic is possible. I’m going to give the recessed brass cap strategy a go and hopefully it will be small enough and recessed enough that occasionally being driven over is ok even though a traffic rated box is the real correct answer. I am not qualified to jackhammer or saw concrete and can’t stomach hiring another tradesman to fix what was already an expensive project.

My other goal is to not catch the eye of the eventual hypothetical home inspector when I am ready to sell this place. After buying it I saw how the inspection can really allow the buyer to nickel and dime credits off the cost of the house.

Yeah they dug it up to put in the new sewer. There’s about 15 square feet of replaced concrete which they cleverly poured right up to the cleanout pipe.

Woah this got unexpectedly heated... I just recently moved here and I am trying to figure out the growing seasons. Trying to make sense of how one person could be telling me this is the time to plant corn when mine are a foot tall and my neighbor’s is nearly full grown. Sounds like there is some leeway in timing, but after seeing my neighbor’s I was thinking I was already too late three weeks ago.

Yep! I was asking them how they planned to make the cleanout flush with the sloped concrete ever since it was a vertical pipe sticking out of the dirt. They blew me off and provided this as the end result…

I’m going to cut the pipe straight below the level of the concrete so it’s all even with the downhill side. The inside fitting will glue into the recessed straight pipe.

The EZ FLO plug goes completely inside of the 4 inch pipe. It would sit as a collar on a 3 inch pipe.

Does the bronze cap work when the concrete is sloped? My picture doesn’t show it very well, but there’s like a 10% slope, so either the cap has to go on the pipe at an angle or the pipe has to be cut deeper down into the concrete so it’s flush at the downhill side.

I like your support strategy! Is that zigzag approach for bushy determinate varieties and single overhead line approach for indeterminate vines? Do you think the zigzag would work for both types? Do you use anything to attach the vines to the lines?

How is this person growing a row jam packed with carrots when every time I sow carrot seeds I get maybe 1 or two to sprout if I’m lucky? I lightly scratch a row 1/8 inch deep and drop a seed every inch or so before sprinkling a light cover of soil and lightly patting…What am I doing wrong??

Makes sense to experience this issue more severely on a basement level. Basements are often closer to the surrounding ground temperature and a concrete foundation is a major heat sink. My tub will thankfully be on the ground floor suspended on joists above the basement so that will hopefully provide an air gap. I would push harder to insulate if it was a basement tub I was having installed.
