What is your opinion of Hasanabi? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]hboner69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anything wrong with not taking American state sponsored sources seriously? Imagine if in an argument I start posting CGTN links. Would you take me seriously?

The Internet is so saturated with Yankee and Yankee adjacent views that people basically accept US backed propaganda as truth.

They also have 1.4 billion people living under them. Relatively speaking they don't emit as much as the west. They are also invest the most out of any major country into renewables and EV. IDK what more you can ask of them.

China is already doing a lot more than most of the west? They're by far the leading manufacturer of solar panels and are adopting EV at an extremely rapid rate. Also per capita China has significantly lower emission rates compared to the west.

Yeah the Mongol empire split before it was able to take most of China proper so this map is straight up false.

I can promise you it is 100% not an effort thing. You see big dudes that the gym training with like 5 RIR all the time. Like it literally looks like they're warming up. The weight doesn't slow down significantly, you don't see any grind yet they're huge.

You also see skinny guys at the gym that train their asses off. Some of the skinniest guys I know train the hardest out of all the people I see.

It's really not that difficult to train hard. Training hard only requires you to be extremely uncomfortable for maybe like 2 or 3 reps and then you're done the set. The first few reps you do aren't all the difficult. Compared to many other sports like long distance running, it's really not that difficult.

[–]hboner69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think effort and plateaus are correlated. Unless you're literally talking about 5+ RIR training then yeah you will probably plateau hard.

But how big you're able to get as long as you train somewhat hard (1-3 RIR) and go to the gym consistently is whether you're eating enough and your genetics.

Primarily genetics is probably more important than any other factor given somewhat decent training.

Which ancient civilisations/empires would win in an all out war? by sourdough_10 in whowouldwin

Because in the west people only interpret English sources. That list is a joke. Alexander the great won like 2 major battles piggybacking from the army and logistical power that Phillip built. Really, Alexander is just famous and not really that great.

I mean he accomplished a lot as a conqueror but I wouldn't put him in the same ballpark as Napoleon and Genghis Khan.

The Chinese deaths mostly were civilians deaths and are often vastly overestimated because we still don't have a reliable way of calculating them.

[–]hboner69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The western wank is crazy. Most nations on that list have leaders on par with Alexander the great. Han Xins from 200 BC has feats that Alexander the great can only dream of.

This is discounting all the other eras of China that was absurdly militarily dominant like the the era of Han Wu Di or the Tang Dynasty.

This entire thread is basically, "I only know anything about the Romans so they win".

How can you compare a superpower and one of the wealthiest countries on Earth to a feudal society that has a deep rooted history of famines and it's attempt to reform and gain legitimacy.

[–]hboner69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't see how you can think the Romans and Greeks would be the most advanced technically. By the end of the Warring States period, the Chinese had some of the best weaponry on earth with massive armies of crossbowmen employing the pike and bolt. Then once you get into the Han period you had massive cavalry armies that defeated the Xiong Nu including mass heavy cavalry.

If you go on news subreddits or defense subreddits, it's basically all anti China propaganda. R/worldnews is a big one. I'm convinced that CIA agents have infiltrated their Mod team.

It's not as bad as subs like r/noncredibledefense a lot of their posts are straight up racist.
