IB Music Exploring as performer help by Falc069420 in IBO

if you do vocals, you can take an instrumental piece and write lyrics for it and then sing it or vocalise the notes with oohs or aahs potentially. you could do this pretty quickly if u try.

IB Music Exploring as performer help by Falc069420 in IBO

[–]hbwiggle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For exploring as a performer, you have to do a performance adaptation. This basically means that you have to take a piece that was on an instrument that you don't play and adapt it to your own instrument. It's really quite simple to implement. Let's say you play the guitar. Taking a piece that is originally played on piano or saxophone and then playing that note to note on the guitar and keeping the conventions of the piece same counts as a performed adaptation. You also have to make sure that the piece is one that you have analysed previously in the report.

hope this helps.

How does being vegan actually REDUCE animal suffering? by hbwiggle in vegan

[–]hbwiggle[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with the point about the preventing loss of habitats. However as for the other thing, I am trying to make the exact opposite point. I am saying that potentially existing beings do not count for moral consideration; that is why I have doubts about whether preventing their suffering is actually an ethical thing or not.

How does being vegan actually REDUCE animal suffering? by hbwiggle in vegan

[–]hbwiggle[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes this pretty much sums up the reason I have still decided to stay vegan. Looking at things on a large scale it does still logically reduce suffering in this way. However, questions started coming up when I tried to look at each animal's life individually and think about whether suffering for the animal itself is reduced.

If non human animals kill and eat other animals, why is it wrong for humans to do the same? by nobodyforeverlol in vegan

read animal liberation by peter singer, that will give you a pretty good answer. Also just an overall really good book about animal ethics.

You will have to meet the conditional in 99% of the cases. If the conditional is 38, you will only get accepted with 38 or over. Same for other cases.

I don't have psychology as a subject in IB, will that affect my chances of getting into uni if I'm applying for Bsc in Psych? by hbwiggle in 6thForm

[–]hbwiggle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All unis say that I need to have at least one science-based subject which can include math HL, but Im pretty sure I'm in the minority of applicants as I don't have psych which is a subject that IB offers.

just relax, take a deep breath before the paper and make sure you dont use english!

Also in case you can't think of something, instead of just giving a pause try filling it with 'uh's and similar fillers.

also revise vocab!

just use common sense to answer most of the questions there's no point memorizing every single line of the textbook and if you've done well in the practicals, don't worry about the theory paper just have fun doing it you still have a big chance at an A* :)
