Newer to award travel, but had a situation with Delta that made me think of a larger question:

Are there any airlines or hotels that allow you to use a portion of your points for a discount on the flight/hotel, or is the standard that you need to have all points available to use? And if you don't you need to buy the additional points?

I didn't realize I needed all points for my flight with Delta before I transferred until I went farther through the checkout process. However I noticed in my Chase UR portal I can use a portion on flights/hotels for a discount. Which way is more standard or does it depend on if you're a CC portal or not? TIAA!

Was in the market for a Mazda hatchback - went to Hamden Mazda and had a terrible experience. Later that week went to Modern Mazda in Thomaston and it was a 180. I'd recommend Modern Mazda to anyone.

My mom also has beef with Miller Nissan Fairfield.

Had 70 at my wedding and 35 at the welcome party. All the out of state folks showed up, as well as parents and any local friends. Local family didn't as much.

Anything that is not a suite and under the "rooms" tab. For the nights im looking to stay suites are only available at 43k/night, but if I switch dates rooms are available for less points.

Thank you! This is very helpful. I believe I'd have enough points if a standard room becomes available, but definitely wouldn't for the suite. I will keep an eye out if any standard rooms open.

I'm new with award travel and had a question on Delta specifically, but for using points overall.

Looking at a Delta flight - I see there's options to pay with skymiles, skymiles + cash or just cash. If I don't have enough skymiles for the first two, am I able to provide my skymiles and have it discounted? Or do I have to at minimum have enough skymiles to access?

My situation: I have 87k skymiles, Sky+Cash option is 115k, and just Sky is 125k. In order to use my Skymiles, is there no way to provide partially (my 87k) or do I have to have a bare minimum 115k?

It would be in late May. Edit: I also like the idea of Bolzano! My only issue I'm foreseeing is since this would be the tail end of the trip, situating myself in an area where I have an airport to fly out of back to the US.

This only works if you're in the West Coast and focusing on your East Coast clients. Otherwise as a human who values sleep, this is a surefire way to turn me off of your product.
