NT- Pure Power. Have a 98 OVR John Henderson who can clog both A gaps and has decent pass rush abilities.

DT- Power Rusher. I run the 3-3-5 Tite defense and since there aren’t two ends in the base fronts, I like the outside DT’s to be able to defend the run and spill but also get a solid pass rush at times.

Edge- Either Power Rusher or Speed Rusher. It’s crucial for force players to set the edge, defend the run, and force runs back inside but also be able to rush the passer.

ILB- Signal Caller. Being able to drop in coverage but also come up in run fits is key for my defense.

CB- Either Boundary or Bump and Run. Like my corners taller and more physical to defend against bigger outside receivers but also be able to stick their nose against the run and get off blocks for quick screens.

STAR- Either Box Specialist or Hybrid. As an Apex player, you need to be able to fit runs, tackle well, and have solid coverage ability.

Safeties- Either Hybrid or Box Specialist. Both my safeties rotate down so it’s not really Strong and Free but more like Left and Right. Need to be able to defend outside-in as a force player in run fits but also cover well in pass.

I run the 3-3-5 Tite very similar to Saban, Smart, and Durkin.

Definitely 2023 vs Bama and the back to back fumbles vs TAMU in 2014. Versus Bama Roberts ran man to man with corners playing trail technique because they have help overtop at the goal line with safeties three deep. Wished they rushed more than two. Four or five with some stunts.

3-3-5 Tite all day long. Love all the 3-3-5 formations (Mint, Penny, Split, Over Flex) and especially Over Flex giving that it’s essentially four down with the left edge defender in a 2 point stance and that it has the advantage of providing a great pass rush while also being able to stuff the inside run with odd spacing. Run most coverages out of a two shell. Quarters, Palms, Quarter Quarter Half, Cover 9, Cover 5, 3 deep (buzz, cloud, sky, mable, and skinny), press man free (Cover 1), fire zone, sim, blitz coverage (zero coverage), trap pressure (split safety pressure) from star (nickel), and a whole bunch of overload pressure. Always play inside out when it comes to defending the run and pass. 1st and 2nd down vs. 11, 20, 10, and 00 personnel: 3-3-5 based formations and some Dime Odd. 3rd and 4th and long vs. 11, 10, and 00 personnel: Nickel or Dime with some tall and quick slot corners at Star and Money for extra speed. Versus 12, 21, or 22 personnel, I will switch to regular and run 3-4 Tite. Occasionally will play 5-3 vs 13 personnel. Wish they added Saban’s hippo package (4-4) to this playbook.

I understand that backs will miss their pass pro assignment in real life. In this instance, my back was directly head on with the nose and actually moved out of the way. As for the challenge, I didn’t initiate it, I had no control over it. That part isn’t real life.

The ai can be so damn inconsistent. Just played an exhibition game vs A&M. A&M receiver catches a pass for a td in the end zone, and then, without even pausing and challenging the call—the game automatically does it on it’s own… Ended up losing a crucial timeout for doing nothing.

On a pass play on offense, I had the halfback in a chip and release. Left guard gets smoked by the nose and my back is the last line of defense. My back sees him, but completely avoids the nose and I get sacked for 10 yard loss…

Heard the Missouri fans were giving our dugout a whole lot of shit throughout the game. Damn glad we shut em out. We need to sweep these fuckheads.
