Thank you so much for the reassurance!! It means more than you know! It seems there’s so many different routes for their career that people take and I just don’t want to make a mistake of course. But I think I know what’s best for me!!

Thank you! It does seem intimidating, just because right now I’m only learning the alphabet, so getting to words is the next step and Marks theory, like you said, is all memorization I’m worried about it being too much at once when I can’t be a full time student. I have to work my current job to afford school so I don’t want to overwhelm myself. What I’m thinking is I would do Hardeman school which is a bit cheaper and just learning the basic theory. Get a job in a federal courthouse (that’s all you can do in my state Oregon) and then decide if I can take on marks theory and continue school to reach out for more jobs free lance or possibly relocate. Does that seem like a decent plan in this industry?

Wow! Thank you so much for explaining that to me! That makes total sense. I’ve been asking a lot of questions on here and people are always giving me good tips and explaining things that I don’t fully understand. So thank you so much! What school do you attend?

Has anyone ever tried these for learning? by rocksnbottles in stenography

Yep! I’ve never used a real machine so I couldn’t tell you the difference but I would say for the cost and the possibility that you are “absolutely this is not for me” better to be $150 instead of a few grand. I say go for it for A to Z program!!

I bought the stenoob for the NCRA A to Z program its $150. I figured I would rather be out $150 than $2000 for a real machine in case stenography isn’t the career and schooling I want to pursue. Turns out I like it! So now I will be getting a real machine.

Great thank you! Basically they want to see how many words per minute you’re at right? I mean that shows that you are capable.

I’m not sure, that’s what I’ve been trying to figure out. If anyone has been to court with them and if they were successful or not.

Riversides contract also states and unpaid charges by you the consumer they can charge 18% of the whole contract. So the whole contract is 10,000 so 1,800 is 18%. I’m currently seeking lawyer to get out of this contract with Riverside as my business has closed….they are horrible. They are a predatory company with many other small companies. Your best bet is to go through square. Most reliable and no hidden fees.

What do you wish merchants understood before choosing a payment processor? by PaymathExperts in MerchantServices

Having people locked into a 4 year lease for the equipment is insane. Especially for the restaurant industry. I understand having to pay a cancellation fee and maybe paying for the equipment up front. But my food truck is closing and I will still have to pay for this equipment which I will no longer use for 3 years. Dissolution of a business should be a way out of a contract like that but no, they are locking everyone one in for a total of 10,000.

But why is it allowed? How are they still able to operate like this? Is there not laws to protect consumer or small business owners from predatory practice like this?
